This pub has had more names than I care to remember. Still the same layput though. Bit rocky in appearance. Plenty of pub activities and a decent juke box. 4 Handpumps on show, 2 ales that looked unexciting (Hobgoblin & Bombardier) and 2 ciders (Old Rosie & something else). Things went a bit haywire after 2 pints of the Old Rosie. Though seem to remember a few odd characters populating the pub. Firstly some guy trying to hussle us while playing pool - he couldn't understand why we weren't playing for money between ourselves! n became upset when we wouldn't play him for money. There was another chap who looked like he needed a good wash (smelt that way too) and seemed to hover near anyone playing the fruit machines. bloomfieldjpm - 11 Aug 2010 05:21
Hobgoblin the only cask but a decent pint, Saturday afternoon on our way to the darts otherwise we may have stayed longer as a band was getting ready to perform. Looks like it can get lively, and possibly difficult to get served, on Fri/Sat nights. Quite Studenty boddies_drinker - 30 Jul 2009 13:16

It was v. busy in here last Friday despite the dreadful weather. May have had something to do with exam results. Anyway, at least they had some real ale on. The Timothy Taylors was OK. Not many places in Blackpool town centre bother with hand-pulled ales so at least that's a feather in its cap, as long as they're kept well (!!). Terry_W - 29 Aug 2006 23:04
