I left the bar brawl at Ye Olde Reine Deer behind to find serenity in the White Horse. This is without a doubt Banbury's best pub. It's a large place with different drinking areas. But when a group of young lads departed, I was the only one in. Although I was later joined by another couple. The landlord was a chatty fellow and knowledgeable about his beers, ciders and wines. There are 5 ales on during the week and a couple of ciders. The ale range increases to 10 at weekends. My visit coincided with Green Duck Shaky Steven's American Stout, Orkney Northern Light, Everards Beacon & Tiger & Hales Free Heart. Ciders were Fynbury Rutland Cider & Westons Family Reserve. The cider sells so well here, that he's trying to get a third one on regularly. Well worth a visit and my favourite pub of the night.

Popped in tonight for a bite to eat as just passing through, nice clean pub a lot bigger inside than it looks from the street.
Which was nice as they seemed to be entertaining a large party of drinkers, this didn't stop the staff offering a lovely welcome and somewhere quite to eat (and watch old ashes reruns to my lady's dismissal)!
The food was great according to my wife as they had a nice selection of vegetarian options, I had the blue cheese burger, she had a mushroom burger!
Loved the choice of ales ( although I could only have one of the village idiot) I loved it and the lady said it was quite appropriate?
All in all a great little (big) pub.

The White Horse is slowly becoming the best pub in Banbury. The welcome is friendly and the choice and quality of the beer is excellent. The décor is not pretending to be anything it isn't, just a modern pub. I tried the food and that was good too.

Large open plan pub which has clearly had some money spent on it by Everards and/or White Horse.

Previous poster either can't count or missed the pumps on the side of the bar! 10 handpumps available - on Saturday there were dispensing 6 White Horse beers and 2 guests. The beer quality and service were fine. Prices from 2.40 for the weakest White Horse beer - the guests are rather more expensive! Food menu looked good and reasonably priced but wasn'r sampled.

In here last Saturday lunch time and quiet with just three other customers.
5 hand pulls 4 for White Horse and I for Everards Tiger.
I tried the Ordinery Best Bitter which was well kept and cost 2.40 a pint.
