Still boarded up today, with no signs of life. So, no refurb underway as yet. RexRattus - 8 Oct 2008 18:09
Boarded up for the last few days, unclear whether this is a closure or just a refurb. Martinl - 6 Apr 2008 18:32
I reckon this pub is stuck firmly in the middle between posh wine bar and dingy backstreet local. Don't get me wrong, it isn't either of these, which is what makes it good! You can have people from anywhere on the social spectrum rubbing shoulders here, and that I think makes it a little different from the other pubs near Holborn. Plus, being just that little bit further away from tourist hell, there was room to move. Thumbs up! kingston_toon - 16 Oct 2007 18:27
My first visit ever with Mycroft, and we tried both the Bombardier and Theakstons Best Bitter - both very acceptable. Food (steak sandwich and cumberland sausage sandwich) was so-so - but filled a gap. zorrodp - 1 Feb 2007 23:50
I dunno if its the same Landlord as mentioned below on my Fri visit, but he looked like Kevin Smith in my opinion (and he looks like he's had a few prk pies, bless him) Not a bad pub, yuppie atmosphere but welcoming. Not alot of ale choices but a 'blue label' beer ive never heard of and I can't remember the name admittedly but was fairly strong and quite nice. Cosy place with friendly punters but nothing out of the ordinary... the_original_rawnsleys - 18 Dec 2006 09:16
