Went back here after years away, there are 2 real ales on the handle, forget which but mine was in very good condition - Cask Marque too! Food we had for lunchtime meal was fine. Decor in generally good condition ,almost cosy despite its size. Feed - 8 Mar 2010 17:39
Monday night quiz is terrific (good old Pete Allen) davidsouthuk - 23 Jun 2008 13:52
The best thing about this pub has to be its monday night pub quiz, which its usually quite hard to get a table as it is a fun event. Also a good pub for smokers as it has a heated outdoor smoking area in a wooden type hut. Can't really say alot for the food here though, as when i ordered a chicken meal I swear I recognised alot of it from the ASDA take out section. SouthCoast - 27 Mar 2008 12:40
Not sure whats going on at this place - menu has been trimmed back a lot. Car park always seems full of vans and pub full of workers ? Was great place last year but they seem to have gone downhill rapidly - best avoided. musicjunkie - 27 Aug 2007 07:39
I first went into this pub as a 6 year old in 1969 in the company of my Dad and Uncles. This in the days of no-kids in pubs. These days, it's best avoided, ever since Trevor left and went to work at The Pilgrim in Marchwood (he's retired now) it's gone downhill. rgb - 29 Jan 2007 18:01
