Souless and depressing. Full of old blokes enjoying the cheap booze. Now wonder the working mens clubs are on the way out! Poor atmosphere and slow service.

In the old fire station, on the main drag in Whitley Bay.

The real ale was a bit too cold for my liking, but like many 'spoons there was a good selection.

The downstairs area and the little booths (almost facing the bar) are the best for eating.
