not a goose chain pub anymore, now a pub trying to hard to be a "clifton type affair"the place is comfy and laid back but pretencious ,the ale offering was doom, and white horse saracen ipa(£5.95 one of each)7/10 fat_beer_badger - 4 Jun 2011 16:16
In on Monday night just gone, pretty lively, but fairly quick service. Disapointing to see one ale on with two off, but at least it was in good condition. Has a studently feel to it, and a good heating outside for the smokers. gife - 29 Dec 2010 15:56
A good sized pub divided in to several different areas, although they all lead in to one another. It’s on a few different levels and has a good selection of seating with a few leather sofa’s, round bar tables and cosy alcoves. There’s old wooden flooring throughout and the walls are a mixture of exposed brickwork and painted plaster. One wall is plastered in flyers advertising local bands. The lighting was fairly low, and this created a pleasant ambience. There was an extensive “pub grub” menu with most of the dishes around the £8/£9 mark. We didn’t try the food ourselves, but the kitchen seemed to be keeping busy. Unusually for a pub, this was an open plan affair, visible behind the bar. There was also a good choice of wines chalked up on a board above the bar. Service seemed to be quick and efficient. Beers on tap were Sharp’s Cornish Coaster and Doom Bar, plus Thornbridge Jaipur. Ciders were Aspall’s Suffolk, Addlestones and Gaymer’s Pear. There was also a good choice of continental lagers on tap. Blackthorn - 17 Nov 2010 09:43

Very pleasant pub, nice garden and reasonable prices - we paid £5.30 for a pint of Becks and a Doombar. The food menu looked good, unfortunately I think I chose the wrong thing as the nachos looked as if they had been deep fried and were quite revolting. The woman behind the bar could have done with a few lessons in customer service - despite being the only person at the bar I waited several minutes to be served as she was too busy talking about her social life. geri1965 - 8 Aug 2009 17:15
