| Can't agree with "amous" because I had a great meal off the Specials menu at the Alex just last night. The front bar was, as always, packed to capacity and the bar itself hard to reach. But in the back bar there were plenty of tables, more than enough staff to serve you, and quite personalised service when - at quieter times - they came round the tables taking orders. | The alex used to be my favourite pub in the area, but recent changes (over the past couple of years) haven't improved my experiences here.
