This pub has improved massively since the no smoking law came in. Yes, it is a bit of a locals pub - nothing wrong with that, it's my local! - but the locals don't bite (unless asked) and the bar staff are fine.

The food is alright, not a gastropub by any means, but keeps the wolves from the door.

I've had many a fun evening in here.. and they do a meat raffle every week!! (Never taken part in a meat raffle..)

I took my elderly parents in for the first time on Tuesday. Despite being only 12 the Marstons Bitter was good and no sign it was the first out the pump. The "Golden Greats" option on the menu was excellent value too.

I came here one evening on the off chance of finding a quiet village pub to have a drink in with a friend, we even came out of the area. But that particular night there was a karaoke set on. Not the end of the world, it turned out to be a good laugh, i even did a couple of numbers myself.

Not sure what its like in the day-time, i hear they do food.

The staff were very co-operative and supplied my need for cocktails.

Met a very nice crowd of people, played drinking games and had a very FAB night. Also, met a very cute lad.

Spacious local, could be good but has the classic faults - too smokey (despite extractor being on) and the TV vying with the jukebox for superiority.

Pub has a golf team, which is an interesting touch.

A couple of Marstons handpulls (Pedigree and Bitter) served too cold but otherwise in good condition.

Not bad, but could be a lot better with a few simple changes.
