I agree with previous comments about Lord Burton being rather dark and claustrophobic, but I recently had a couple of very nice pints of Burton Bridge Festival Ale which were in tip-top condition. That said, I don’t expect anything less than a beer in first class condition in a pub in Burton, especially in one less than a mile away from where it has been brewed. I agree too with the comment about the pub being seemingly being popular with the locals, but it is possibly too popular and too well used because it appears to be well past it’s “best before” date and is in dire need of refurbishment. I can’t comment about the food, but I’ve no complaints about the speed or quality of service. steve2905 - 12 Sep 2008 03:00
Called in for breakfast before going to the Burton beer festival and was disappointed by the choice of beers available from the Wetherspoons own festival The beer chosen was OK but the breakfast was poor as most of the items were cold. Very dark inside, but the garden area looked brilliant. gillhalfpint - 31 Mar 2008 10:14
Saturday night visit... typical wetherspoons.. A real mix of people all enjoying cheap beer. Has a non-smoking area at the back of the pub, good range of real ales. Would recommend for a few beers before moving on to somewhere with more character. WanderingWoman - 6 May 2007 19:22
passable wetherspoons - very popular with the locals it seems - interesting guest ales, usual JDW gripe - as a non smoker without accompanying children i'm not catered for ! but i guess its difficult to please everyone, is a smoke free/child free drinking environment so much to ask ? moclips2002 - 28 Jan 2007 21:48
Vast, cavernous Wetherspoon's outlet. No soul but cheap beer in good condition. doctorpint - 27 Aug 2006 19:17
