user reviews of Lord Keeper Of The Seal, Oadby

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This was my local while I was at Leicester Uni from 1998-2001. It was always packed with students due being the nearest pub to the halls of residence about half a mile away.

I remember drinking Theakstons (89p a pint!!!!!!!!!) all day, until I think... we became known as the Theakstons lot. Hmmm. Well, we were students after all.

The bar staff were a mixed bunch though. Jeff seemed to like us, along with Beardy bloke. But the Fat One accused us of stealing a halloween trinket whilst we were in the middle of complaining about the food. Ally went out with the Lanky Plain One.

Oh well -those were the days.

Apart from my own memories, its basically a standard Wetherspoons, with the nice addition of looking a bit like a library. All the usual average food and drink, guest ales -you know the drill.

somewhat of a interesting pub name again from spoons. Usual cheap beer, with outside seating.
Nice 8/10

Great friendly pub with excellent ales and food but rather smokey at the no smoking bar area. Due to become totally smoke free before May 2006.
Service rather slow for ales as the coffee machine takes so long to operate.
Car parking is 150 metres away but is free.
