I've been to this pub several times, and the food on most occasions has been absolutely gorgeous. Tonight me and my other half had the moose burger (again, we've had them before). This time, unlike previous visits, the burgers were bright pink on the inside and didn't look properly cooked. We explained this, and the burgers we taken away to be cooked for longer. They came back burnt on the outside, still bright pink inside, so we gave up and went home rather than making a fuss. After looking on the internet and reading about the dangers of pink beef burgers and food poisoning, we decided we weren't overreacting and went back to explain our concerns. To be fair, we were offered a refund for our unedible meal, which wasn't the point, but which we did accept after being talked down to and fobbed off by the manager. As most of the bar staff are so helpful, and its a nice place, I would write this off as a one off glitch, if it wasn't for the patronising attitude of the manager. Fair enough, the customer might not always be right, but they're still the customer, not something that's been stepped in. Vodka_fairy - 5 Aug 2008 21:07
Yet again I have had two fantastic meals here, the upstairs resturant is superb, excellent food, fantastic service, exemplory waiting staff. Incredible place to visit, makes you feel at home. I was approached by two members of staff who recognised me from previous visits but the familiarity was kept in check. A minor complaint about a cold coffee led to an immediate apology, a fresh cup and no charge. The fact that they offer you a small, taster of soup as a starter is a nice touch. itsmattagain - 3 Apr 2008 07:44

No atmosphere due to the massive sky sports screen, bland decor (it's like every chain hotel's lobby you've every visited) and poor bar service. Give this on a wide berth. The_Ace - 30 Jun 2007 15:37
Looks as though it has been subjected to a fairly ruthless sanitisation job at some point in the past - I'd agree with some of the comments about the decor. However, there are far worse places to while away an afternoon drinking Deuchars IPA, eating the (very reasonably priced) food and watching a rugby/football game. Nice. burnsy - 20 Nov 2006 13:07
