Being opposite Great Portland Street Station, this pub is more of a meeting place than a final destination. Broadside, Pride, Morrissey Ale and Greene King IPA were all available on my visit, but the Old Speckled Hen was off. There is also a selection of standard lagers, but I stuck to the Pride which was nice enough. Half of the pub is stand up drinking with a few high tables and the rest is on a small raised level with tables and chairs set out for eating the pub fare. I found the staff to be pleasant enough, but there were a couple large groups of lads that I was glad that I didn’t bump into later in the night. As mentioned, ok for a quick stop off before finding somewhere a little more interesting. Strongers - 10 Jun 2009 06:59
Good pint of London Pride and the fish and chips meal. Okay clean and comfortable. KeithP - 27 Apr 2009 20:00
Boringly identikit pubco pub opposite Great Portland Street station, not likely to be of interest to anyone other than local office workers or tourists en route to Regent's Park or the Zoo. As GuideDogSaint noted, a fair few ale pumps, all serving Pride on my visit. grecian - 14 Apr 2009 10:11
Bar staff were friendly when they delivered some other table's food to ours. Not too keen on eating it because we had been watching mice running around the edges of the room. GrumpyGuy - 4 Feb 2009 12:53
New Landlord Paul Robson, fresh from the success of securing the the Kings Head in Bayswater 'Good Beer Guide' entries several years in a row; is likely to improve this pub over the coming months. Graylob - 26 Apr 2008 03:52
