Another visit - A good little Freehouse that can get some really interesting beers. Cannot get these in your local pub owned by pub co - chain antiseptic multi-nationals.Treasure it.
Vive the difference.
cheers

A very interesting place, with a super selection of ales. Food is also good. I've now visited a few times and the staff have always been friendly and knowledgable about the beers.

Cracking place to sit outside, front or back, on a sunny day and sample a few of the ales.

As most others have said, The White Horse has a great selection of beers. The thing I like best is the fact that it's one of the only pubs I know that has a nice Belgian stong beer on tap. However, they only have one at a time (per month), and sometimes it's one of those fruit beers...which I don't like. As far as their other beer, I have had one or two that might have been reaching their age limit, but I suppose that's expected when you try to keep so many beers...many of which are largely unknown. The place is great when the weather is nice...to sit either in front, or the back garden. Never ate there, so can't comment on that. Worth a visit.

new folk behind the bar, but good beer, chirpy barmaids, and best of all, homemade cheese rolls!

Good luck to the new owners. Lets hope they don't undo the good work of the previous landlords and let the dregs back in ! Rumour has it, it's run by the same family as the Queen of england. Please not another irish pub.
Time will tell.

This is a great pub in the centre of Slough popped in on saturday to get out of the rain. Friendly enough pub wasnt to packed. Lots of nicknacks on the walls and for some reason lots of German writing on the wall. I was in on my own for 1 pint but will pop back in bfor a few soon.

Not just the best pub I've found in Slough, but one of the best anywhere. Very good jukebox and Guinness. Landlord naturally very hospitable. I stay in Slough through work now and again and will always visit this pub.

A good pub for a late drink - preferably the Guinness as the real ale not up to much. Friendly place, good atmosphere and when i was in there a few weeks before xmas the landlord came round with free sausage rolls and the like later in the evening.

The pub looked like a oldy wordly place from the green outside so we thought we'd try it... mistake. Loud music, were advised that the Pride was off. We tried it and so it was. The girl behind the bar suggested that she pulls a couple of pints to clear the awful taste. Surely, had she been trained well enough, she would have known that the barrel needed changing or tipping. She didn't have a clue (or so it seemed). We opted for a couple of 1/2 Guinesses and were out of there as soon as we could.
Didn't seem to be the kind of pub where 'gays' would be comfortable to go and have a quiet drink! Even if I was a lesbian, this is the last pub I'd go to for a drink with 'my fellow lesbians'!

Shame. A lovely old country pub on a small green blighted by low climbing aircraft directly overhead on full throttle from Heathrow a few miles away. The bar lady immediately warned us the London Pride (only real ale on) might be a "bit tangy", yes it was well passed its best and undrinkable. Turnover may not be sufficient to sell a 72 pint barrel in a few days. My bad timing, perhaps. Pub had loud music playing on the juke box and widescreen TV screens on.
Didn't notice any obvious gays, not that I was looking.

Popped in for a lunchtime pint and was welcomed by friendly barmaid who served up a decent pint of Pride. Can't comment on locals, gay or otherwise (does it matter?!!), as I was only punter there. Pub was clean and presentable and toilets in top condition. Judging by pictures on the wall this is a thriving locals pub and would visit again. Don't be put off by negative comments elsewhere.

It has an outdoor area. They serve beer. I left after a quick pint. Surly came to mind. Poor girl behind the bar could barley cope.

The pub before the current owners took it over was a complete dump! It is now the most friendly, well run place in the village, even area! I am biased though as I work here, but it is such a different place to what it was before. Since the smoking ban we have created a fantastic garden with PATIO HEATERS!!!! You wont find anything like that anywhere else in the village!
Our food is amazing, so varied to suit everyone!
We were even voted Pub of the Day by Time 106.6 FM!

Any comments are welcome, but anyone who has anything bad to say about this place is insane, all you need to do is open your eyes and see this is the best pub in the area, good food, good beer and great company!

What can I say. This pub was dead as the Crown. It was the shitiest pub around and often didn't even have draught beer. Most people wouldn't dream of going in there, including me and my family. Now it's a different story. The place is clean, great staff, great beer, great food, fantastic beer garden. I personally think it is the best pub in Colnbrook by far. I never thought I would see this pub returned to it's former glory, so well done to the current owners and their lovely friendly staff!!!

Quite surprised after reading the reviews on here when I walked in to this pub.....Yes it has big TV's ..... Yes it has OK food..... Beer is ok too. However, the smell of "funny" cigarettes outside the pub does kinda put you off the rest...!!!

since the pub changed hands in may its a much better place to go to as none of the idiots go there anymore all trouble makers and most drug users have been barred lovely atmosphere and now carvery on a sunday.
17 Mar 2008 22:05
I been going to this pub for about 10 yrs and it has changed everytime a new owner takes over..
WELL NOW IT IS A DRUG DEN WHERE PEOPLE GO TO DEAL IN DRUGS AND SMOKE OUTSIDE..I HAVE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES..I HAVE TAKEN KIDS THERE FOR A MEAL AND HAVE SEEN SMOKING OUTSIDE AND YOU CAN TELL WHAT THEY BEEN SMOKING..THE OWNER WHICH IS A WOMEN SEEMS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS AS I HAVE WITNESSED THIS AND JUST LETS IT GO..I WILL NOT BE GOING TO THIS PUB AND HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE POLICE AS WELL...
