Smallish single roomed pub with a mock tudor frontage as can be seen in the photograph. It's a Greene King establishment and as such one of the better ones I've been to in London. Ale offerings were St Edmunds, GKIPA, Old Speckled Hen and Royal London.

In the early evening this pub had a very relaxed atmosphere and while it might get busier later I found it a very pleasant place to while away an hour and read the paper.

It's alright......handily close to work to wash the day away.

Touch expensive (then again, understandable considering the location) but what really annoys me about the place is that the royal london is actually cold upstairs which is just wrong.

What an excellent and popular little pub. The Belgian family with their four children who sat next to us also thought so too. Very friendly staff, the Adnams Spiced Ale and the shared seafood platter was excellent. Terrific value for money and unlike the famous 'Pie pub' around the corner which was closed (for Christmas?) this place was deservedly popular. We'd come again!

A strange mock Tudor decor wedge of a building that you don’t get the full effect of if you are walking to it from either direction along Bruton Street on the same side of the road. SO it is actually worth the extra effort to step over to the other side and get the view from there.
The upstairs area was being laid out for a private function at the time of my visit, which meant the ground floor bar area was busy and consequently quite noisy.
Fourhand pumps supported which had the usual suspects of Fullers Pride, TT Landlord and Youngs Ordinary. But then the forth was dispensing O’Hanlon’s Goldblade which, as I didn’t bother read the small print on the pump clip, I didn’t realise until after ordering is a wheat beer.
Made a pleasant change as did this strange different to the run of the mill pub.

We attended a conference in London and were invited to "The Coach and Horses" in London (Mayfair) by a local, who is a regular at this traditional pub, which is uniquely located in a posh commercial area of London just off of Bond Street, sandwiched between two large office buildings, which reminded us of the famous P.J. Clarke's at 915 Third Avenue on the northeast corner of 55th Street in New York City, a holdout against the skyscrapers. The Coach and Horses in London has stairs to the right of the bar leading to a dining/meeting room above the main floor, where we spent most of the evening and so our review can not fully cover the pub life downstairs. The beer in any case was good and so also was the service. The pub had a pleasant ambience and in our case added a nice touch to the London experience. (Note: do not confuse this pub with the similarly-named pub "Coach and Horses", also in Mayfair.)

Mid afternoon visit meant most of the lunchtime crowds had dispersed by the time I arrived. There were a few outside drinkers but the interior was almost deserted. The decor is pretty spartan with the points of interest coming from a number of glass cases containing stuffed birds and fish and a couple of wall mounted antelope heads.

Ale offerings were interesting with some of the usual suspects - Wandle, Pride, Doom Bar and Spitfire - mixed in with a couple of in-house brews - Ye Grapes Bitter and Ye Grapes Best. I was in a bit of a hurry so did not sample the latter two. My pint of Doom Bar was fine.

There is nothing particularly special about this pub although it does offer outside drinking which may influence whether you want to visit it or not.
It is worth noting that there is also a Thai restaurant upstairs.

Was walking past with a friend early afternoon, and decided to pop in for a pint. It was pretty busy, mainly with people having Sunday lunch.

The pub itself has nice decor and although busy inside there was outside seating free. Unfortunately the service at the bar was a little lacking - three people chatting away and we were completely ignored, despite being the only people standing at the bar. I can understand staff being busy, but we should at least have been greeted. Finally after the staff had wondered off and come back a few times (all the time ignoring us) we managed to get served.

Beer was OK - pretty much what you'd expect, ie. nothing special. I don't live or work near there so probably won't go back, although I'd give it a second chance if I did as otherwise it looks a nice place.

Beautiful pub. Love it, a managed house, but a very very good one.

I have been going here for years, I love it, Sunday morning stroll thru Mayfair which ends up with Lunch at The Audley, my Kids and wife love the Sunday trips to it. The staff are as always excellent. and we are always welcomed as old friends. My father used to take me there in the mid late 70's and I think thats where i got the love for the building. Sitting outside on mid sunday summer is just awsome

10 real ale hand pumps at various points on the bar and on my recent visit during last week, there was no duplication of clips, with the usual Nicholson house ales being complemented by several off the Summer 2010 guest ale list. These included Morrissey FOX Aussie IPA and Thornbridge White Swan and the latter was a very nice pint and well kept.

Not a bad size for a Nicholson's pub, with two main rooms at ground floor level plus a cellar bar and and the Shelley bar and dining room upstairs. Given how close it is to Piccadilly and the large number of people usually to be found outside on the footpath, it never seems too crowded inside even at busy times of day (e.g. early evening). Ten handpumps; and despite a couple of duplicate clips, it still offers a better-than-average selection for this chain. The beer quality seems to have improved too - for example my pint of Meantime London Pale Ale at £3.15 was first class, and served at just the right temperature. Rating increased since last visit.

I had had a quick one in The Goat opposite and thought I would just look into the King's Head for another. Very smug young man behind the bar, once he deigned to serve me. I chose the Punjab IPA at random and it came out of the pipe as froth. No suggestion from our glam kid that he might let it stand and top it up. It took about 3 minutes for it to be drinkable. Was it worth it? Well, if you suspend any preconceived ideas about what IPA is about it was not too bad but I have had a lot better. Nicely done out place, menu looked good, pity route to the loos take you through the (very smart looking) restaurant but otherwise OK if you happen to be in the area. But don't make a special effort to get to it.

Better than expected but nothing special. Deuchars IPA was good but why the old fashioned jug? We're not all old fogies you know. They even gave out handled glasses for G&T! What's that all about?

Guy Ritchie was holding fort with some of his mates but who cares?

At £3.75 a pint it's not cheap but neither is the area

If you enjoy real London pubs avoid this place at all costs. The only thing they're good at is calculating a fair price and adding 50%. Snotty, pretentious, and number 1 on every dealers sat nav.
18 Aug 2010 15:10
£4.30 for a pint of kroney, you really are having a laugh! Took my gold-plated pint outside and overheard two suits complaining about 'bloody unions', 'bloody labour' and for some reason 'drunken loutish celtic supporters', drank up very quickly and moved on. Will definitely not be going back.
