please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

i used to go to this pub back in the early 90s. initially it was a bit depressing, and i do remember the locals being stand-offish the first 4 or 5 times i went in [especially since i'm an American], but i lived 2 blocks away and stopped in nearly every night on my way home from work; they eventually warmed up and it ended up being a friendly place to stop in.

My doctors surgery (which is being rebuilt) was on the same row of buildings as The Victoria and I've just realised the pub has gone. It was a fairly depressing pub but was used by locals and in a way I it's a bit sad it's gone. It was usually fairly empty with the only people in there being blokes on their own with their pint, looking into the middle distance.

Pretty sure this has been pulled down recently. The site is now a surprisingly large building site.

Strange crowd in this pub, you get stared at when you walk in. Definatly a bit locals only. If this was the only pub in the area then I say it passable (just), but with so many really good pubs nearby, why bother.

Still pretty empty on a Sat night. Cant see it lasting in its present format.

Sat night and empty. Friendly bar staff and lager cold. The big screen was showing a video with a bloke looking at a washing machine. I felt depressed.

Having read Dave Cooper's reply I visited the Pub over the weekend and have to say that my original comment is no longer valid.
It has changed conserably in the 6 months plus since I last visited. The atmosphere was relaxed and the beer was good. It's become a decent enough traditional pub(with a very reasonably priced menu!)

The comment below from Craig is totaly wrong, yes the pub is still fequented by Chelsea & Arsenal fans but only for the games on the big screen. Anyone can use the pub in total safety. The current management have removed the jukebox and gaming machines there is live jazz on Sunday afternoons. Hot pies, pasties & sausage rolls are now served during all opening hours.

Very efficient barman: an amiable fellow when you get to know him. Abbot Ale was in good nick.

The pub now has new managment with a commitment to making it a great place to drink at. There is a Quiz Nite every Tuesday and music entertainment Friday nights start on 21st November.

Good pub to go to if you are a Chelsea fan. The beer is cheap and cheerful. The thai food is surprizingly very, very good.

Scarey place and it now sells Thai?
