please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The bogs are apparently not as grim as they used to be. Great pub from a dying breed (cf. the Gloucester Arms in Oxford) which is highly suitable for Goths, metallers, punks and other misfits while pints of Elsie Mo from the Castle Rock brewery and Blue Monkey Infinity went down very well. Britain needs these kinds of places to survive.

Probably my favourite pub in Nottingham. Great for heavy metal/rock fans. Gets very busy at weekends and service can be slow. But despite first impressions this is a friendly pub and a great night out. Just avoid the toilets and don't eat anything in here.

no food at the moment but the new promo card is really good value, best drinks promos in nottingham!

Went in here for the first time after living in Nottingham for 47 years.

I never knew there was such a pub in the city centre or I would have been in here before. Brought me right back to the late 70's

Lots of leather, lace and bright stockings on show and that was just the men. Bet this place is jumping when there is a band on.

Surprisingly good pint of bitter, mind is slipping, can't remember what it was.

It is tru however that the bogs are grim.

I went to this pub for the 1st time ever yesterday, it's great. Friendly staff and punters, went and saw the live band upstairs and had a tiop time. The toilets are grim but who cares, i don't go anywhere for the bogs, Definitely worth going to if you like a good punk/rock/billy pub.

A proper rock and metal pub, by far the best of its kind in Nottingham. The place is a dive, but there's some great beer and a very good jukebox. Live music upstairs most nights, and some amazing bands have played in the past. Also a fantastic selection of food. Blokes toilets are hilariously foul. Great place.

Felt a little bit out of place here, not enough tattoos and not having coloured hair. no one else seemed bothered.
Come and play your CD's for a while seemed to be happening. some good music some bad. Beer ok, toilets were terrible.

Could do with a lick of paint but great real ales - this pub is now has Casque Marque and always has local real ales on from the likes of Castle Rock, Nottingham Brewery etc - decent beer garden if a little uncolourful - good inexpensive food - if you can handle the 'alternative' types who drink here this place is well worth a visit - bar staff very friendly too....

Actually we only visited the place to see where my boyfriend fell down the stairs and hit his head but we stayed to people watch and have a pint. Quite nice there, actually. Bit quiet in the middle of the day. A friend from America brought his band over to play there but I wasn't around at the time. Sounds like they had an interesting evening.

ace pub. bit annoying when the staff open the juke box though and subject you to half and hour of screaming metal when you just wanna drink. the sausage and mash is amazing. I don't know how they do it!

Much better than it used to be and now thankfully cleared of student scum

Great character bar - makes a nice change from some of the other pretentious bars in the area. Recommended.

Reallly like this pub, great atmos, excellent jukebox selection, good music venue upstairs, my only critisism is that they don't serve real ale, ah well you can't have it all i suppose.

I really liked this place, they did spicy spirals.

Nice little spot just out of the town centre (Hockley to be precise). Contrary to the other comment, I've found the service to be fine and the atmosphere is great. live venue also puts on some good underground bands every so often. Definately worth a visit.

Two rooms, neither of which you can get served in. No matter which room you are in the staff always seem to go into the other bar to get your drink which makes me suspect slops. The service is appalling so don't bother going into this place which seems to cater only for the Slipknot generation who don't know how to pull their kecks up or tie their shoelaces.

Horrible tiny sweaty live venue upstairs.
