Paid another visit recently on a weekday afternoon.

10 pumps of which 10 were on, including Spoons regulars Doom Bar, Abbot Ale and Ruddles. The rest were all interesting offerings as part of the Wetherspoon Real Ale Festival.

First up was a pint of Island Hog, a pale and clear ale, very pleasant and refreshing. Service was friendly and the barmaid recommended another ale (or was trying to warn me off it) which a customer had told her it tasted of mince pies!

Intrigued, I went for a pint of Benjamin's, the mince pie ale in question, and was somewhat put off by the fact it is a Greene King ale. But, pleasantly surprised I was, the pump clip boasted cinnamon, cardamom and coriander, which did indeed have a bit of a mince pie taste to it. Nice and unusual, unlike most of the offerings from Greene King I have had in the past. Impressed!

The only 'spoons in town and it's on our way from the Marina Bar back to our hotel with a slight detour!

We arrived just before 10.30pm and it was still quite busy but with an older crowd, which was a relief to the wife as she's not a 'spoons fan.

Large rotunda shaped pub with a spiral staircase to one side and a semi circular bar.

Usual Wetherspoons lagers plus a whopping 10 hand pumps with 10 different ales on. I opted for the fairly local Rooster's Blind Jack @ 3.7%.

It may have been because it was a Monday or that it was late but the pub was a lot nicer than other 'spoons, a lot calmer and quick service.

Not a bad effort and worth a visit.

A pretty decent Wetherspoons (currently in the good Beer Guide), several local beers in addition to the usual suspects.

Visited here after a rather underwhelming trip to the Greyhound down the road. It was a sight for sore eyes! It was busy on a weekday afternoon and I only just got a seat. Had a decent pint of a proper real ale, which was very refreshing after my insipid pint down the road beforehand! Lots of people eating food in there too, standard for a Wetherspoons though of course. It might be 'just a Wetherspoons' but at least you have an idea of what you're going to get when you walk in. As far as the real ales are concerned, they had a fair selection and most of them seemed to be from a local brewery, but not being from the area I can't remember what it was called, it was just nice to get a chance to try something different.

About time this place had a up to date review. Went in earlier today, to find the place quite full, though not rammed. They had the Ruddle's on for 1.29 but I opted for the Old Empire which in all honesty was very good. The place is due a bit of a revamp but all in all, it is a good place to be in on a cold January afternoon. On a sub note a friend of mine has traced his ancestry back to Brid, his great-great-great Grandad owned the house which is this pubs beer garden. its quite ironic really as he was a devout Methodist!!

Hmm. Mediocre is the best thing to be said about this place. Mediocre even by Wetherspoon's standards.

The only busy pun I visited in Brid. Friendly staff, nice pint of Edmunds Ale, although other choices limited..and nothing local . OK spoons joint.

I'm not a Wetherspoons fan but I have to admit that this one is the best I've been to. The staff were friendly and efficient, there was a selection of different ales, all quite well kept and even though the curry wasn't the best I've had, it wasn't at all bad and 5.59 for a curry and a pint can't be sneezed at.

It also seemed to be the social hub of Bridlington as it was busy all the time when everywhere else seemed deserted.

Why is it that the gents toilets in Wetherspoons pubs always stink? There is a piece of paper on the wall stating that the toilets are checked hourly, I cant only assume they check that they are still there but do nothing else. Please, Wetherspoons management, get the toilets cleaned. Ive been to some pretty grotty pubs with cleaner toilets.

One of the nicer Wetherspoons I've visited. It's corner location means it's slightly different from the usual layout. Service was good. Whilst we were there, they were having a small beer festival featuring 5-6 beers from the Saltaire brewery. The draught cider was Weston's Old Rosie and Weston's Organic.

If you have to go to Bridlington then this is a good pub to visit. When we were there the weather was diabolical but the welcome was warm and friendly.

We went in twice over the weekend and on both occasions it was busy but the bar staff's service was quick, efficient and friendly. I think the staff at this JDW do try harder to make sure the customers are happy

The real ale was well kept and clear and one of my friends on this visit, who insists that John Smith's Smooth really is beer (Yuk!) said that it was good to. It is also worthy of note, that unlike many other JDW establishments it wasn't a second home to the down and outs.

I've said before that JDWs is the Little Chef of the pub trade (and I didn't mean it to be a compliment) well this one was more of a Happy Drinker. There were four of us who tried different meals and all of the food was perfectly acceptable, their microwave jockey obviously knows his/her job.

The pub has much improved, its still in need of redecorating as its looking rather shabby, but the place is a lot cleaner and your elbows dont stick to the table anymore, there is always a good selection of real ale on tap at very good prices !!

This pub must be one of the scruffiest I have been in in a long time, the tables are filthy.

This pub has the worst service of any Wetherspoons pub I've been to and that takes some doing.
Went in for the curry special thing and the onion bhajiis were burnt to a cinder so we complained and the waitress took them away only to return 10 minutes later with what were obviously the same burnt onion bhajis, only now cold as well as fire damaged.
The service at the bar was, if possible, worse.
