Popped in at lunch time for a bite. Pub was virtually empty, only Youngs Ale and expensive menu with not much choice.

Dropped by here once, just because it has such a silly name. I drank my beer and ate some nuts. They came in a small can and were quite expensive - for a handfull of nuts that is. That's all that happened, no more no less. Quite remarkable how uneventfull this place is. Ho hum

Too expensive, but friendly staff, needs music on a Friday. Wife loves the food!

Great change made to this pub by Robbie the landlord, it used to be a right pikey pub and has turned into one of the most plesant pubs in town to have a quiet drink. Its a shame the prices are sky high but i guess that keeps the idiots out

WHAT A RIP OFF

The renovation of this pub has been a complete sucess, it is now quiet a pleasant place to drink, very popular with young professionals which means it has a different clientelle to your average dorking pub. The food is ambitious and generally quiet well recieved.

Nice place to go and have a quiet drink. No idea where the person who added this pub got a pool table from as there is none. Some times live music on and free nibbles for customers. Nice place all round.

Vastly improved since the days of the Jolly Butcher (JB's) pub! More 'upmarket' than it used to be. Excellent choice of wines and the London Pride sampled here, was pretty good. The food is on the very expensive side and to be honest I have never seen anyone eat here. So, in other words, I do not know what it is like! More of a wine bar than a pub - still a good place for a quiet drink or two....

Far too 'trendy' for Dorking! This establishment probably belongs in Epsom, Sutton, Wimbledon etc. and definitely not in a market town, which still has a 'very old fashioned' feel to it. Common complaints are that the food and drink are too expensive and there is not enough real ale - really sad!!

Recently opened on the site of the old Jolly Butchers. Totally revamped, both the building and the customers! Pleasant, upmarket wine bar with good selection of booze, excellent menu, great atmosphere and average prices. Fireplace, couches, all wooden floor with timeless music playing in the background. Appeals to the young professionals (over 21) and anyone who enjoys mingling with the trendy crowd. Strict dress code and right of admission reserved. Great team running the place. Call Rob Long for bookings or more details (01306)882222.

Re-opened as an up-market wine bar called ARTy P's. Good menu, great food. Good beer selection, some alcopops for the girls, excellent spirit selection. The old crowd of ne'er-do-wells have gone and aren't welcome any longer. Home to a more friendly, mature crowd, catering for the over 21 market. Drinks aren't cheap, but they're not extortionate either. Music is quiet & innoffensive. Staff are friendly, toilets are clean & no more sticky carpet or fighting drunks/ druggies. The place is very nice & will do well amongst the young and middle-aged professional set. Dress code is enforced & right of admission is reserved. Try it out on a Friday night after 7... well worth it! Good luck to the place, may we never see the likes of JB's again.

Has recently re-opened as an upmarket wine bar / pub. It is now called Piss Artists sorry, I meant to say Arty P's! What a idiotic name. Although, the pub has been refurbished to a high standard, it looks like it is going to cost an arm and a leg for a pint and the trendy food (I sincerely hope not!!)

Re-opening as a new and upmarket wine bar which will focus on food rather than the fights! Will be very interesting to see how long it survives. Also the Jolly Butcher name will be consigned to the rubbish heap. Shame...as the new name is pathetic and totally forgetable! Hopefully, the new place will be able to keep the Dorking Crew out of their new establishment. Although, I very much doubt it and I fear that this place will be soon once again, be the hotbed of illegal activity that keeps the police incredibly busy!!
