Now called the Station Inn. I dropped in as my train was a few minutes late. It has a fairly modern interior, with plenty of seating. Ales were Bombardier & Doom Bar. Serves a purpose.

Dreadful place with a ridiculous name. Have you by the short and curlies due to the proximity to the station. Overpriced and revolting.

Pub also has an upstairs music venue with bar at the back of the room serving Ascot - Posh Pooch & Fullers - London Pride. Went in last night for some blues music. Great place and Real Ale too! Only problem was beer was served very cold.

Missed our train so popped in here for a quick one as we had half an hour to kill. Had Ascot Ale Posh Pooch which was jolly good.

There were around half a dozen folk in the pub which considering it was 1545 was quite a lot. It no doubt benefits from being directly next to the station. Barlady was quite chatty. A large pub which I'm willing to bet was once called something like The Railway Arms.

Again we made a mental note for a proper visit in the future.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Mixed clientele, and very nice sitting outside in the warm evening sunshine. Now selling Ascot Ales Alley Cat and Posh Pooch (2.80 and 3.10 respectively, which is not bad for the area). Both in decent nick when I visited, and doing fairly brisk trade in the ales.

Not worth a visit, buy a drink from the stall in ascot station if your thirsty. Pricey "jazz bar" did have Deuchars IPA which was lacklustre at best. clientele mixture of the overpaid and the youngsters wanting to go waste their time in the club down stairs. staff particularly rude and clueless about their trade.

Popped in for a quick drink to find a decent warm atmosphere and decent warm staff. Best bit was being asked to join up with a free mailing list that got me my pint for 2.50!
No where in Ascot is this reasonable midweek!

Pretentious pub, one handpump that promised real ale, but alas it had just run out and they couldn't really be bothered to change the barrel, so has a pint of Hoegaarden in a plastic 'glass' because it was a race day, I didn't know that racegoers to Royal Ascot were so violent!

Visited Jagz for the first time today for a pint on my walk home from work. I think I may have been served by the member of staff already mentioned here. Not a word of greeting or even a half attempt at a smile. The worst pint I've ever had pulled was plonked down in front of me. Two whole inches short! I couldn't believe it, I assumed my glass was going to be topped up but no. Several members of staff walked back and forth but it soon became apparent that this was my lot. I had to ask and suffer a withering look for my troubles. We've all had a short measure but I've never seen anything like this before.
I did get a comfy chair with a good people watching position and the beer was drinkable but only just average. I've given it a 1 rating but only because I liked my chair.
What is it with pubs and bars in this town?

upstairs is ok, the club bit is a full of old perv's though and is too small, however it does beat most places in the area though!

Dont go there - they are incredibly rude!

All apart from one gentleman who was eager to please and helpful. As soon as he went off shift he was replaced by a hoard of frankly grumpy people who acted as if you'd ask for the world if you asked for a drink.

One short, blonde girl was especially malicious - which is an extreme way to be if you ask a bartender for a drink. You dont expect pure hated to come back at you.

Not worth going there - really! Dont bother. (unless you get the slightly older, politer gentleman)

very good pub quiet pricey Mixed crowd no regular customer vibe though

Good if you like "modern jazz", bit a bit of a trad jazz desert!
Club prices for drinks in the club section, bit of a small dance floor, but then very few people dance there. Who can to modern jazz?
Meals are so called "fusion food", but an eclectic wine list, the last time I went there.

A charity trad night on Sundays, once a month, has now started in aid of Ascot Rotary Club.

I agree with Quinno. This pub was civilised even on a race day recently. The Deuchars, I think, is no more expensive in Ascot than it is these days in the Edinburgh bar for which it was originally brewed as the house ale.

Nice bar, serving one ale on my visit today (Deuchars IPA) reasonably priced (2.50) in good condition though pumped through a sparkler. Good atmosphere, youngish clientele. Worth a visit and very close to station.

Very expensive but then again the whole of ascot is!

Good range of drinks, polite bar staff and comfortable atmosphere. Lots of seating in beer garden for the summer weather. Didn't try the food though.

Decent.

Now more than ever the best bar in the area. Drinks are the same as the local boozers but you get decent cocktails, good selection of wines and some fines ales to boot.

More of a bar than pub, nice but somewhat cold and lacks atmosphere. Good for late night drinking as has club section

Fantastic Bar/Club/Restaurant! Great decor in the main bar with a lively, friendly atmosphere. Top quality nosh, and good value beer

This is a great bar - excellent music - but not the cheapest ever!
