Im surprised this pub has a rating as high as 5.4! The location isnt bad and the pub itself is quite nicely decorated. However, the manager/owner is rude, unhelpful and obnoxious. Food is overpriced. Not family friendly. Attended a wake here and the owner was unbelievably rude to the widow! If you;re lookng for value for money at a pub with a good family atmosphere, go somewhere else!

Fortnightly on a Wednesday some friends of mine frequent this pub. Occasionally I join them and have never once been disappointed. Everything about this pub says 'nice, quiet and relaxing', from the friendly staff, slightly tired but well looked after premises, reasonable prices, a selection of ales and lagers (and a very good selection of ciders).

Went into the garden one evening and was stunned at the thought and decor and seating arrangements. Cant wait to drink away summer evenings here.

Haven't tried the food, fully intend too.

I recently visited this pub,Nice, clean and well kept,However the pool table and jukebox have long gone, together with the neglected decor, this pub is now totally unrecogniseable of it's former self, there are newspapers for customers to read, nice food is served and there is a nice Beer Garden out the back together with a nice conservatory area-there is also live music at weekends.

Pleasant enough road house. Adnams and London pride on handpump but I got the impression this was a lager drinkers pub. Clean and well run, it was quite busy for a Friday afternoon. Nice to see a couple of newspapers for customers.

Can confirm open again. Bit of a barn, used to be better. Adnams on tap, was ok. Went there to watch footie but could find no reason to go back.

Open again with a new fresh look and now doing barbeques in the garden at weekends.

Worth a try.

Worst pub in Upminster and now closed for refurbishment ..It would be best if it was pulled down and flats built.Dreadful place with no real ales and no atmosphere.I give it 2 ratings.

Went there end of year..
Lovely pub, loads of room and the ale ggod.
ONE NEGATIVE....the staff looked like chavs in their ;tracksuits...better suited for Pitsea, and looked very dis-intrested that afternoon.
Having said that...a good new years eve showing.

went to jobbers rest for lunch on 7th july 2006. the place was dirty looked if it hadnt been cleaned for days. the toilets both the gents and ladies were dirty and smelly. the chairs in the dining area were ALL badly stained, ugh. tha main course rump steak not bad a bit tough. the desserts were awfull- dont have the bread and butter pudding-solid-yuk costing 2.50!!!!!!!
This used to be a superb pub, sadly no more

been here a fair bit this is my blind date pub , take a blind date here incase they are a bit on the rough side so no one knows me lol
but a good pub gets packed on bank holiday weekends with kids in the garden and parents in the bar , do quite like this pub just wish had better transport links as a bit off the beaten trail .
a fair drop of beer was served the glass was dirty and told them and they replaced the glass and the beer , havent tried the food but the menu looks appertising and have seen people eating and it looks proper food not microwaved stodge. a few fruit machines and a pool table and a few kids games out the back which create amusement after a few beers
