please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

It's a reasonably big pub and has a huge horse shaped bar. Has quite a few ales on and the prices are reasonable. Can get rammed when sport is on. I've waited almost 30 minutes at the bar here on a match day before only to just think it's not worth the bother. The ale has almost been in decent condition.

This is a great Hydes pub in a grand building and a great selection of ales. It doesn't attract the piss heads as it's possibly too expensive for them, food ok but nothing special. Worth a visit 7/10

I have a lot of time for the Friendship, having been there a few times. The best pub of it's type in the immediate area. I did once attend some years back during an England game though, where they lost to Russia. The place was packed and this caused a bit of mayhem involving glass smashing in anger. I would suggest to avoid these sort of match days here if football is not your thing.

I do recommend it though, there's a real testament to it's staying power. The outside seating is also nice.

It's a nice pub, i don't get in too often but i like it very much, nice mix of people in here. Worth a visit!

I love this pub and have boozed there for several years. My favourite bar staff are jacky, darren and odinn. Actually my all time fave is leeann but she hardly works there at all now. bring her back mr baty! the jekylls gold is gorgeous, the food fattening but tasty, and the service is friendly and fast (usually!) my one gripe is that i cannot stand the way the asst manager (ian) barks orders and shouts at the staff in full view of punters. its uncomfortable for a customer to witness, but he is a reasonably nice bloke to have a cig with. ps get leeann in i loved helping her with answers on quiz nite.

The Friendship is pretty cool, lots of space & friendly faces. They have good live music on there on Sunday nights too, well worth a visit & less dodgy than most other places nearby.

The only 'proper' pub in the area. Decent mix of students and locals, decent beer and I'm told the food's decent too. One of the better pubs in the Fallowfield area.

Must've picked a bad, bad day. Arriving at opening on a Sunday lunch opening time with a group of friends we were immediately verbally abused by the 12-year old spotty barman. Each visit to the br resulted in the round-buyer being insulted by the same spotty kid, under his breath. Patience ran out when he tried to double-charge my mate for a round. Exeunt stage left, but made the mistake of returning in the evening when he wouldn't be working. Correct, he wasn't, but the spotty munchkin was still in there pissed as a pudding giving us even more grief across a crowded room. Being a bunch of southern softies we let him off the good kicking he'd worked so hard to earn, but it was rather embarrassing for the governor to have to lob one of his own bar staff out of the pub for the night. The rest of the staff were great, enjoyed the cold beers and the footie chat, and would go there again as the other places nearby look pretty dismal.

An aptly named pub. The only place in the area where you get a good mix of locals and students. The beer is excellent and they serve the Hydes seasonals.

Hydes did a very sympathetic renovation of the place and it's also a great place to sit outside in the summer and watch the world (and especially the totty) walk by.

A fantastic pub, if only for the fact that it is actually a pub. Hydes ales make a refreshing change to the terrible lagers sold in other fallowfield bars. It's got a great quiz machine too.

Called in to watch the Cup Final only to find two grown men cavorting on the floor, before atempting to throw punches at each other! Seen better fights at the Junior Blues !

this pub is amazing, i can not have one day where i dont go in for a few jars. food is very average but the atmosphere and quality of beer well make up for that. also if your male, there is some nice talent that works there and one of the guys that work there looks well like paul scholes. in a word friendly hahahaha.

The latest refurb has been the biggest(adding)a back room, but its not taken away any of the pub character & characters....The Hydes bitter & Hydes seasonal beers are normally on top form...decent food as well.
Nice to have a `local` in student Fallowfield,,,(& actually be allowed in without a Union card).

It's being redone at the moment. Should be open 2004-10-12 or so.

So, er, it does change.

Nice beer, friendly atmosphere and men playing cribbage in the corner. A blessed oasis in the scum-pit that is Fallowfield.

Worth going to if only because it's a bit of a local and therefore the students tend to avoid it. Hyde's bitter is a pleasant enough pint.

Hyde's pub almost opposite McDonalds. Doesn't charge even when all around it will.
