please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Wallet-bothering to say the least. Like everywhere of a weekend in Fallowfield it gets rammed and you can barely move, and consequently it often takes ages to get served. Unless you're on a pub crawl or something I don't really see why you'd want to come here in the evenings. The good range of drinks is a redeeming feature.

Nice enough, bit far too pricey for what it is and where it is. Not really worth it, especially with the length of time it takes to serve anyone.

this place isnt all bad. there are afew snobby stuck up students in there with more student loan money than sence and the drinks are pricy, 'specially for fallowfield! but i have had a few good nights in here, and the cocktails are pretty damb good (as is the talent!)

On a sunday or summer afternoon, this is a great place to be....(if the 3 people behind the bar can serve the 2 people in front of the bar in under 15 minutes!!)...
Read the papers..and have a proper cocktail...This is when you need to visit....At other times `yous takes your money & (wait a long time)yous spend it

The Picture of Stalin is a bit weird.Waited the length of a short ice age to get a drink.Packed with hooray henry students.Rubbish

the decor's nice and there are a fair few vodkas on sale, but you need take out a mortgage to get a round in.

I can't believe everyone's being so nice about this dump. You can never get a seat, it takes about 40 minutes to get an (overpriced) drink, it's always full of the sort of posh students who shout about how drunk they are, the food comes in tiny portions, etc., etc. etc. Music and decor are fine, but that's about it. And what's that huge picture of Stalin doing at the top of the stairs? It's like putting a picture of Hitler in a German theme-pub. I've moved away from Manchester now, so fortunately I'm never gonna be dragged there again, but trust me on this: even in the living hell of Fallowfield's nightlife, Revolution is the pits.

some fantastic eye candy behind the bar. don't normally bother with the revolution chain, but we were on a bit of a crawl so took a gary gamble on the place. can i apologise now for projectile vomitting in the ladies (even though i am a bloke). enjoyed one cocktail and left. better than most revo's i have been in.

Best bar in the area, great range of music, staff are v.friendly considering how busy it gets. Nice atmosphere and loads of drinks offers lately.

Its a quality place. Not the cheapest but they got some deals on at the mo for us student types. Women are fit infront and behind the bar. Looks like a few of them have started to flair one or two of them ain't bad but you should go to the living room for that. I heard they're doing a staff auction this weekend going down for the ladies i reckon.

Yeah, it's a good place to go have a beer. I find Sunday evening here to be about the best they offer. The bar staff are friendly, the female one's are fit. Look out for Mike, he's the life and sole of the place.

I went for an 18th for a friend and found that whilst they started off being accomodating, the technical problems that they were having downstairs with their DJ equipment lead the manager and staff to become much less co-operative. Nice place, but the manager did miss a trick or two and i never felt that i was being told the whole story

although this pub has good music thats the only thing i can go on. it gets way to packed with idiots takes too longto get served andthe beer itself isnt the cheapest. go glass its a better place.

Great Cocktails and a nice atmosphere; only complaint is it takes so long to get served there.

love this bar, it rocks, quality music, quality staff, never actully met a pretentious person in there everyones out for a laugh, and i've never seen anyone dancing like they were having a fit. You gotta get some rhythm bro.
omis - 17 Oct 2003 08:15
This is a top bar. The music is always good, as is the atmosphere. As for being pretentious, i dont find it to be full of try hards at all, its just a popular, busy venue.

I don't like this joint at all. A quarter of the people in there on Saturday night seemed to be out to prove to everybody that they were on Ecstacy by dancing like they were having a fit ...I've never seen owt like it... and so several times I got elbowed in the face whilst I was trying to get served ... which took about half an hour even though it wasn't _that_ busy. I won't be going back. I prefer Karma, or further into town The Font: both have got a funky crowd but not so self-conscious.

This bar is great fun,a little more expensive than some, less than others,, But with that it comes with compfy leather sofa's (get there early if you want one) upbeat music, good list of cocktails and beers almost any vodka you can ever imagine, flavoured or premium. nice helpful staff and it generally pulls in a good crowd every day of the week. best starting place for a good night out in Manchetser..

revolution is a heavy venue! the tunes are good staff competant the woman are delightful. may be a bit busy at the weekend but it all adds to the effect... beside's only a loser would want to sit in an empty pub (ronnie)
leon c m21 - 9 Jun 2003 14:53
Very poor. Overcrowded, and full of people who do not normally frequent pubs.

Prententious with no reason to be.

plenty of beautiful women in here. Cheap drinks. brilliant!
mohammed - 16 Feb 2003 09:27
Why the hell is this rated number three? It's not especially bad, or anything, especially if you're a student and a fan of interesting flavours of vodka, but it certainly ain't great, either. It's always crowded with students, the novelty of chilli flavoured vodka wears off pretty quickly, and the beer is very expensive for Manchester. That said, the food is pretty good, they sell Hoegaarden, and it's considerably better than other local hostelries (cf. Orange Grove, Bar XS, Queen of Hearts, etc).
Chris - 28 Jan 2003 19:39
Full of posers and too busy at the weekend!
