University haunt. Can be good some days and dire others. If your into good pubs selling quality ales, this place may not be for you. If you like lager.........you'll be ok in here.

I remembered this place from years back on sojourns to wolverhampton when they used to have some great live music. Seems to have slipped down the pan - bar and staff looked tired, empty optics, hand pulls with no ales on and a nasty pint of keg bitter forced me to drink guinness - at least I cant tell if its cloudy. The beer 'garden' felt like a prison.

Pretty good place. Probably best for a night out. It can be quite dark sometimes, which does subtract from the nice interior. The floor is sticky too which is really annoying. The staff professional and friendly. The prices can be a little on the high side, pitcher of Jager Bull 16...across the road in Royal London, 9.95.

The menu sounds fantastic, wide variety and competitive prices. In reality it's very disappointing and as a result I've only ate there once. The food was very slow, approx 50 mins for 4 meals and 2 sides. I'd love to say it was worth the wait - It wasn't.

Good if you just want a drink and a chat, bit of a change of scenery to your regular. Good for a night out.

I used to go in a lot, when i worked in Wolverhampton years back, especially around 'France 98', as we could watch the games in an upstairs room.

The building exterior is very nice. The place was formerly the George Hotel, (the original hotel dated to the 1750s, i think) and this building has the Georgian style to it. The interior is large, with leather sofas (a little threadbare) and tables.

Service was fine, beer cheap. Usual tosh, with Bombardier and Theakston's Bitter. Had the bitter, not the best. I will leave it another 10 years or so before coming back.

I walked into this place not expecting much as I've been to a few Varsity bars before. This one's a bit different though. It's much more pubby than the large drinking barns I've been to before and it also had 2 real ales on. Tried a pint of the Bombardier and it was good, it got even better when the barmaid said 1.95 please, pretty cheap for central Wolverhampton. Not bad at all.

Hmmm well it's a Varsity. Staff are pleasant the food is good and if you got one of their little card thingies the beers pretty cheap too.

Its a pretty chilled in there with its dark woods and oldy style horseshoe style bar. There is a big screen but its got a pretty limited viewing space.

I like this bar and I will be frequenting it unlik eits 2 local rivals (no-names mentioned)

Trying to be a music venue but turn away band followers so many followres of bands coz they dont have ID makes it a joke. Drinks are too expensive, toilet facilities not good. door staff rude and overthe top. Management paranoid, promotor invisable. Avoid until they get their act sorted. Otherwise I just love Wolverhampton!
