Awful pint of Bombardier like sarsons, very busy only cos the upstairs was closed and everyone was crammed into the small downstairs part.Definately not one of Yates's best offerings, 5/10

I had been recommended to come to this pub for a nice meal as the deals were inviting. I visited the pub for a lunch and as soon as we walked into the pub it was really dark. The menu is very nice and has lots of choice. We ordered our food and drinks from the bar but we sat and waited for our food for almost 40 minutes and as we only have an hour for lunch this was unacceptable. When the food did arrive my meal (fish pie) was cold, my friend's steak was not cooked the way she had asked and she could not eat it. The staff were not very happy, they looked like they did not want to be there.

The staff are awful, toilets disgusting and the drinks warm. If you are majorly drunk these things might not matter to you but if its the start of your night, avoid!

Erm... This place is full of young people, fights and moody doormen. Prefect if your night revolves around Brannigans as its kinda the same people... Chavs (to be honest!).

bar staff seem friendly but the new manager seems abit up himself, looks like he is always on coke sniffing and rubbing his nose. The doormanseem really friendly and helpfull. One of them is quite tall short spikey hair he is gorgoues! Best looking doorman in romford by far. Look forward to going back aslong as themanager aint there.

Haqving been a metallhead through my teens and still into it at 23 i used to despise this kind of place.
Went in with my cousin the other week for a few more after leaving the lamb, nice and quiet midweek evening. fairly cheap drinks staff seemed alright.
one of my mates wouldnt take too kindly to calling the bouncers arrogant but to be honest most bouncers are. didnt have any problems with this lot though.
Would probably revisit when dressed appropriatly.

Yate's is my fave bar in romford...Thursday night's are wkd as it's Karoake night....I was there last night and had a great time. Drink's are fairly priced..unlike some of the other pubs and bars in Romford they do cocktails...Sex on the Beach & Woo Woo are prob the 2 most faveourites.
The staff are friendly and helpful, it's a modern bar/pub with comfty seating and food is served until about 8, the food is well priced and enjoyable.

if u haven't been here b4..check it out!!

this place is not good at all, the clientel are all the local thugs and the staff are unfriendly as well, with the bouncers being really arrogant.

the drinks are reasonably priced which isnt too bad, but i really wouldnt ever go here unless i had to (not that i ever would).

Anyone who would call this place "the heart of Essex" has probably never even set foot in the county and is insulting the hundreds of warm and friendly pubs that can be found there. This place offers low quality drinks, bad service and a generally ghastly experience all round.
