Open again. Visited during the day for a quiet pint, and not much has changed. Typical Maidstone drinking barn with all the usual lagers, and felt very empty, maybe better at night? Will take a lot to tempt me to try the food again after bad experiences in the past.

Ive been visiting this pub since it was yates, and since the new management have taken over, this pub is at its best.food is great, staff are really friendly, its busy with the right clientelle and fast service. Friday and Saturdays are GREAT.drinks are cheap, with offers on corkys shots, cocktails and cocktail BOWLS which is great if theres alot of you. Entertainment is fantastic with a stage to dance on to. Door staff are friendly and entertaining, ive never seen any hassle in here yet,all this keeps me coming back for more.........

Your GUARANTEED a fantastic safe and entertaining night out in this place.give it a go!!!!!

Ok just an update on the NEW rock night starting on HUh HUm 28th August (sorry about earlier wrong date) The night will host 2 live acts on the opening night and will run until midnight. You can expect a full on rock/metal night with experienced dj's. The bands have proven quality and the door will be staffed so you can expect a decent night.

If you are in a band get in touch!!

With respect to the last users comments, give the place a chance it has new managemnt and they are dealing with someone elses legacy which knowing the new management will be an improvment on months gone by. I eat there and it was suppurb.

This pub should be give a miss by all.... I couldnt work out why it was always empty as it seemed nice enough - until I ordered food there. It took over 40 minutes to get our food, and that was only after complaining about the wait. There could have only been about a dozen people in there, not all eating so no excuse for a long wait. When the food came out, the salmon we ordered was frozen in places, it came with chips (cold) instead of mash as described on the menu. We got our money back and got offered a free drink, but it completely ruined our lunch time. I would definitely recommend never to eat here!!

I can't work out why more people don't use this place, I've been recently on both Friday and Saturday nights and it's been really good. Nice staff, decor etc, DJ's that don't seem stuck up there own backsides. Not sure about the Creme Egg Vodka shots though...

And I think it's going to be open later soon (2am??).....hope so.

Hurray! Finally a pub in Maidstone with a SEPERATE non-smoking floor! (upstairs). Now it is fair for non-smokers and smokers alike - as splitting rooms into smoking and non-smoking sections DOES NOT WORK! Now when me and my friends go out our clothes and hair no longer stink of smoke (and is brilliant for the asthmatics amongst us!) Other pubs take note :-)

The decor is cool too, much nicer than when it was a Yate's lodge. Quite a good mix of people and age groups.

Whatever you do, dont expect much, the food is not what you order, the ashtrays are left upstairs for days on end without emptying and the staff lack brain cells. Not to mention the grumpy git who manages the place and blames the customers for the staff mistakes
