please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

There’s a Sunday Times Magazine air about The Victory’s décor, and much emphasis on their cocktail menu. However, I have to say being served by someone on a mobile phone is a first for me, and I saw two people leave their pints and walk out during my stay there. Poor show on the service side and no real ale; it must be tough being located between the excellent Wargrave Arms and Duke of York, but must try harder.

Unfortunately this is a pub with all the character ripped out of it and consists of a fairly large single room with quite a few of the dreaded sofas. There is no ale that I could see and the only customers when I was in were a few local soaks. It might be better in the evenings but I don't think I'll be returning to find out.

working in a high pressure job in london i look foward to my evenings in the victory pub (just off edgware road )where i can relax over a nice beer or enjoy a meal from the thai menu.damien and the staff are always on hand to make your stay an enjoyable one.

with all the madness that is on offer in london it's hard to find somewhere you can sit ,relax, chat enjoy a nice drink and be made feel welcome not anymore i was suprised at the way my friends and i were treated from the moment we arrived till sadly the time came for us to leave.we had a great evening in the
victory and will be back very soon.thanks to damien (the irish charmer)and his team.

An odd place, and not as nice as the below reviews or average mark suggest (I thought). Looks superficially pleasant, but when I went in on a weekend afternoon it was almost dead, but equally difficult to concentrate due to a very loud lady playing noisily with a two-year old kid, which was a bit off-putting in a central London boozer.

A good local pub to drink in. The place has a warm atmosphere (unlike some of the others in the area). You can do worse things than trying this place.

Popped in here on Saturday lunchtime. The interior is of the living room variety with sofas and candles and looked very homely. Classical music was playing quietly in the back ground. Since it was so hot we had Strongbow and sparkling water, so I can't comment on the freshness of the beer. We sat in the courtyard, which was pleasant, and had a wonderful smoked chicken caesar salad and a chopped tomato bruschetta. The barmaid was smiley and pleasant.

And the strangest thing about this lovely pub? We were the only ones there ... why?!

Better than it used to be but still a little shady, there are much better local alternetives.

Very quiet on our visit last Sunday but a good pint of Abbot Ale was had. The pub sign has terrific attention to detail, not something that I usually notice or even particularly look out for. Currently not serving food at the weekends.

I have been visiting the victory for about 2 months, since Joe the new manager has taken over the place has changed dramatically, this pub was once a male dominated grubby boozer with a pool table and didn't offer any food other than nuts and crisps.
Joe removed the pool table and juke box and spent a lot of hours redecorating and the transformation is fantastic.
The atmosphere is great (candle lit in the evenings)there is now an extensive menu which offers your standard pub food ( fish& chips, bangers and mash etc) with a great selection of sandwiches at reasonable prices. They still show football and sport but some how it still remains cool and you feel that you are a guest in the staffs home. Many evenings after work i have wound down with the help of the cocktail happy hour 5.30pmto 8pm (i think) and have always been engaged by Joe and his Staff in a very friendly way.
I can now also go there on the pull as the office girls and the american student girlz that now come here are very, very pretty!
Seriously this place is a great new local for me,i dont feel like a sad old git if i come here on my own, i am made to feel welcome and i think Joe will dominate this old skool pub area when word gets around, but hey dont listen to me try it yourself!!!

I've walked past here a few times, and I was convinced it was a proper old-style rough and ready boozer. I'd wanted to go there next time I was in the mood for getting very pissed on Guinness with a whole load of old men. But I finally got to visit on Friday and to my horror it was all gastropub / wine bar with sofas and good looking bar staff, full of trendy young people. Very nice for what it is, I'm sure, but not what I was expecting at all. I was most disappointed.

So was it ever the place I thought it was? Does anyone know?
