user reviews of the Hendon, Hendon

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Massive, somewhat soulless pub in unlovely Hendon. Strangely high tables meaning that a well kept pint was virtually facing you at eye level. On the positive side, whoever chose the background music has excellent taste. Functional and if I lived here I'd use this place for want of anywhere else.

Very poor service on a sunday night and the place is completly soulless. Had a very rude bartender who was not hospitable and who was extremely slow in bringing the drinks to the table. Food wasnt bad, but the drinks combos and menu were limited, not a place to have a good time with your mates.
Would definatly reccomend the galerria, which is just a few doors down, much better place

Has no redeeming features. Those who wander through it's portals inadvertently may think they have perished in some calamity and are residing in purgatory.

New landlord here, place was on its knees and no is coming up to strach.
Still not the best pub in the world but better then it has been for years. I say anyone who has had a bad experience in the past, give it another try

Just an awful pub, rude bar staff, arrogant manager and crap flat beer. avoid

if you like fights, chavs, and shaven headed nutters, come right in. tries and fails to be upmarket...food is a joke and microwaved, drinks overpriced and served with all the humour of piles. rumours of closure should be met with caution - where else are this lot going to go? keep them in one place

By the looks of this website a lot of mud has been thrown at this pub, and it simply isn't deserved, or applies to the pub before it was refurbished. I frequent The Hendon on a regular basis and I always have a good night there. The music on a Friday and Saturday is really good and very eccletic, so it suits a range of tastes. Maybe its because I am a regular, although I don't believe this is the case, but the staff are nothing but friendly and always provide top customer service. My advice: Give it a go.

what can i say about this venue?Rubbish place, staff with attitude, owner who is big headed for nothing, unpleasant patrons.I thought the owners would have sorted out this gutter by now.My last visit was on a saturday night.I arrived around 10.25 and at the door was a peroxide blood and a size 30 girl accompanied with two door bouncers. They told me i had to part with 3.00 to get in.Given that the pub was half empty i didnt see the reason for charging..well being proffessional and polite i handed her a two pound coin and two fifty pence coins and so did my colleague. We ordered our drinks and settled in seats near the entrance so that we could see what was going on.We noticed that some people were going in free after a few huggs and perks between them and the peroxide blood.Obviously the regulars get in free.A group of six people, four girls and two lads approached the door and were told to pay 3.00.they paid and as usual no ticket is issued. What we saw shocked us.The peroxide blood and the size 30 model shared the money. This pub has to get its act together the staff are very rude it looks as if they are doing you a favour when it is supposed to be the otherway round. This pubs biggest selling point is the music other than that there is nothing more to it.We left this pub within 30 mins and went to the gallery where it more classier and staff will go out of their way to help you.

TO THE MANAGEMENT OF HENDON:
SORT THIS PLACE OUT OR GET SOMEONE ELSE TO RUN IT IF YOU HAVE FAILED.
AS TO THE STAFF:
GET YOUR ACTS RIGHT OR GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE.

Britain in microcosm - and thus a very sad indictment of where we stand as a country today. Truly grim - a riot of primary colours, teenagers trying to look cool and orange food - and all of it on one of the most unpleasant stretches of highway in the UK. This pub doesn't even have the decency to be small given that it has approximately the equivalent floorspace to Wembley Stadium. Someone please come and save Hendon.

The food is okay and fairly cheap, and it's handy when there is football on.

about as good as the bottom of my foot with a veruca. COMLPETELY over-rated. ridiculous club prices with an owner and staff who really think it is some the bollocks club. dont waste ur time. even the gallery is better - and thats saying something!

A chavtastic scummy pub. Avoid (unless you're from a council estate - then you'll love it).

A lot of people have said bad things about this pub and that is fair enough. But if you are young, and you love dancing then this is the pub for you, on a Friday and Saturday night. Everyone thats in their dances so the atmosphere is really hype! Try it some time, its really good in my opinion!

My only attraction to this pub is the pool competitions on a Wednesday. When you beat there local champs they want to split the prize money (100 quid to 70/30). ALL tables need to be rebalanced. My friends and I only attend every two months or so as one of us always walks away with the divided prise money. Guinness is poured and served poorly. Sort of a 18 to 30's pub

This advertises itself as a Greene King pub which makes it doubly disgraceful there's no proper ale on the pump here. Otherwise it's very big, very dark and lots of pool tables and games machines. A poor man's Bald Faced Stag i.e. very poor indeed.

Oh horrid spot! Thronged with the very choicest vulgarians and oafs Hendon has to offer.

This pub is awful!!

Rude staff who could care less.. my pint wasn't as cold as it should be and was watered down.. the fly that landed in my pint should have warned me away but no, I was hungry.. ordered some scampi and chips. Made me very very ill.. over-priced to boot.. avoid!

Its a pub with four, count 'em FOUR pool tables. Resident DJ on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as the odd theme night. Great atmosphere, great fun.
