Ah, the ‘spooky pub’. Not particularly spooky to be honest, though being there for a fancy dressed Halloween party last Saturday evening (Oct 27th); my fellow partygoer’s attire at least befitted a pub with such a theme. Otherwise, the odd cobweb doesn’t quite cut it. The bookcase toilets entrance is cool though. Drink selection is crap and expensive (though the ‘test tube’ shots) looked interesting. I had a really good night in all honesty, though that had little to do with the venue itself. I’d recommend it for a themed party, otherwise I wouldn’t bother. The London Stone isn’t a great name either.

Stumbled in here by asking a bunch of strangers where was worth going to on my birthday.
Really enjoyed the place, just not had time to get back to London this year yet, but I will visit again!

This pub is very different to your typical city boozer. I can't say I care for the horror theme myself, and the lack of real ale is a disappointment, but if you're a goth who happens to work in the City and get a train home from Cannon Street, it's the place for you.

I went here a while back and will be going again tomorrow. I love the decor, thought it was very cool, especially the 'hidden' toilets! I had a lovely chicken ceaser salad and garlic bread. Sure it did take a while to get the food but it was presented beautifully and was very delicious and a lot of it for what it cost! My husband also really enjoyed his meal of gammon steak and egg. The dishware was also very cool. Looking forward to going there again and taking friends there in the future!

It saddens me that most of the reviews on here are regarding food - its a PUB not a restaurant. If you're after fast food and a coke theres a Mcdonalds nearby.
Rating it as a pub (I've never eaten there as I go there to drink) - have been here quite a few Saturday nights for their clubs and its a good little pub - it seems less "themey" than the other Eerie pubs I've been to and I like the layout as its quite spacious for a basement bar.
Could do with some good Belgian beers or ales but for a late night drinking venue in London its well priced and the staff are really friendly and nice. Where else can you listen to Manowar on a Saturday night while drinking Jack Daniels?

Having been to this pub a few times I am always optimisic that the service will improve, however, sadly today this was not the case. My colleagues and I waited almost an hour (and we were in our lunch break)for our food. The attitude was too relaxed when we were informed of a so called error with the till not feeding our order through to the kitchen. This we discovered was not the real reason and so would advise anyone thinking of going there to prepare for a long wait.

This place was crap with no decent lagers or ales and I don't care if it has got a door disguised as a bookcase. Shouldn't it be in a student union somewhere!!

Small and cosy, nice to get away from the maddening crowds marching to and from Cannon Street station and their offices. Like anything could be more important than a cold beer, d'uh!

"as a vivisectionist i can confidently say that this boozer is too hot."
The air conditioning is now fully operational,..this boozer is now too cold.

I absolutely love this pub. It is a great venue for parties on the weekend because if its secluded location and small size. Every single time I go I have a great time. Everyone should definitely check it out. Also, I heard they are changing the menus- so those fretting about the food, hopefully your next expierence will be better.

About 15 of us turn up for the Christmas Dinner. My friend is told that we can have anything from the menu except for the turkey dinner and the chocolate cake. What the hell is the point in a Christmas Dinner if you can't have turkey?
My first course is advertised as a prawn cocktail with marie rose sauce and 2 slices of brown bread. What I got was a few prawns smothered in mashed up potato salad wrapped in a bit of salmon. Served with white bread. No sauce. A bit of a shambles but not too bad.
Main course was two pieces of over-cooked cold razor-thin slices of beef and a few roast potatoes served with a red wine sauce which had the consistency of water. A bit grim really
Dessert was a frozen solid block of what was allegedly roulade.
And the fourth course was coffee and a mince pie - the coffee looked and tasted like dishwater and they were out of mince pies.
Other people there had other issues with whatever they ordered. One of my friends got her vegetarian option whilst the rest of us were have desserts. She also had to take the orders for everyone as the staff were unavailable to do this!
4 courses for 15 quid. Absolutely tragic really, the worst venue I've ever had the misfortune of eating in. Don't go there to eat.

this place is a gem of a find, tucked away downstairs with no windows gives it a dungeon feel which goes well with the spooky/gothic/eerie pub co theme they've got going on. such a contrast to the All Bar One next door, I know which one I'd prefer to drink in. The music could be improved however, was a bit too "poppy" which didn't suit the surroundings. and you must at least once do all the 7 deadly sins (cocktails) and then receive your 2 free ones (then try and find the loos!)

Yeah, drinking in here and not using the bogs is akin to going to Paris and not doing the Eiffel Tower.... gasp in amazemenet as your mates dissapear through the bookcase... shriek in excitement as they return refreshed minutes later.
They also do £1 test tubes - perfect for the depressed man struggling to enjoy a thursday night out.

Sorry my mistake, misread the name off the gaff.
Speaking of Stones, as a Stonemason i can confid....

Speaking of stoats,..as a vivisectionist i can confidently say that this boozer is too hot. I also like the fact that the slasher is through the book case,..i felt right at home

No no no! This place was a great place to visit with its spooky theme, dark atmosphere and Addams Family fruit machine (see Loz's comment below). They then 'sexed it up' by brightening it up, removing the foreboding glass holders above the bar and adding laminate-effect flooring. Happy Fruits fruit machine anyone? The menu used to be great but now they seem to think 'less is more'. Not when you're hungry it's not. Another great pub that has put trend ahead of taste. I will take my business elsewhere unfortunately. 4/10

What happened here! This used to be a really great pub, albeit the food was sometimes a bit dodge. Now they have taken to lightening it up a bit and removing all the goth type stuff that really made it unique. Its underground and the enterance isnt that obvious so it doesnt overcrowd like most of the other pubs in the city. Well worth a visit still :)

Come child, recharge your capitalist leaden soul in this peaceful, gothic themed house of beer.
Even goths and similar misfits transform into suits when working in the city, so this pub is not as bizarrely placed as it would first appear. One of a number of themed pubs in a small chain, I'm hoping to crawl round all of those based in London this summer.
The food was a bit ropey on my visit, but it may have been a one-off. Another small complaint is that the music really doesn't suit the theme, but it's inoffensive enough. Maybe the alternative loud stuff would drive some customers away.
An oasis of oddness, albeit a brand in itself. A great pub.
