I used to go here when I was 16. It was a problem back then and too many young people were being let in, although now they have become more strict the place appears to be empty.

Went back here for the first time in roughly 4 years. The decor has improved vastly but at a price!

Where the drinks were once £2 for anything, they are now on par with the over expensive bars throughout this area. Not a major fan of RnB or Hip Hop and the music used to vary but seems to stick to the above criteria now which is disappointing. The 'Bird Cage' as it has been refered to in a previous post used to house the in-house dancers both Women and Men and really added to the atmosphere, sadly this has disappeared, so you now get loads of desperate chavettes doing their best impression of Beyonce - Not a pretty site at all.

On returning to the Buzz Bar my friends and myself were quick to realise why we stopped going here in the first place. We wont be making plans to go here again.

I went to Buzz bar last friday for my birthday. I was very surprised at the size of it (rather big!) but I would have imagined more people to fill the place up. It only becomes lively at 9pm when they open downstairs- it was hip hop and rnb that night which I reckon is the best to dance to but I have to say that the DJ was quite rude when you went to request a song. The layout is very nice and modern. If you like to show off your dance moves there is a place nicknamed the "birdcage" which seems to be very popular. Expensive drinks- are to be expected in the west end, you will not find a cheap bar in london. In all, I reckon it is a nice bar but a little bit boring if you want a really wild night out. It closes a bit early as well!(12!)

Not bad but not great either; drinks are expensive as you would expect and there is a dancefloor downstairs. However, there are better places to go in the west end so I wouldn't waste a whole night in here. Nothing original.

i visited this bar for the first time last night (friday). it was pretty quiet, although the music was good and drinks were about average for the area. however, i was one of the oldest people there - i am twenty, and there seemed to be alot of people that seemed to be well under eighteen. not bad, but not a great place either.

The Buzz Bar is wicked! I went there at the beginning of this year and it was terrible - and dead!
Apparently though it has new management, its been done up, and seems a lot busier now - really busy on weekends. They had a great night on in their club on Friday night - Alison Limerick was the PA, and they have a cool Jazz lounge with live music.
I will be back again this weekend.

I used to be a regular at this pub 2 - 3 years ago, it was the best place around.

I went there in December and was horrified at how empty it was!
I'm going there next Friday with a crowd and I will let you know how it was!

Seems like their getting the old atmosphere back.... went last week with some mates and had a fantastic time........ needs more people...... but should be kicking again soon.

it used to have cheap drinks and a nice crowd. Now, there's no atmosphere, the prices have gone up and the music leaves much to be desired!!

The Buzz bar is about to re-open just like it used to be.

There will be singing and dancing the works...

Come along and see for yourselves

rubbish - i went on a saturday night and it was empty. looks grubby and the few people in the place were underage drinkers

I was there on Monday 20th October 2003 at around 7pm and was pretty shocked to see how empty this bar was - There was about 30 people max in the bar and ot of those about 26 were all chinese. Has this bar been taken over by a chinese owner or something?

Not that I have anything against the Chinese in anyway - it just came as a total surprise as I used to tgo tot he buzz bar maybe 3 years ago and the place was always packed and was mostly made up of the after work crowd - has anyone been there recently on a Friday or Saturday night? How busy does it get?

This bar is cheesy and full of under-age idiots. ancient decor, filthy carpets. Crap.
Rich - 11 Oct 2003 12:37
I think its great-It was one of the first bars I went to-It reminds me of the good times spent there-and the cider!
tina - 20 Jun 2003 16:01
not changed the decor since i was at school, sticking carpets...dreading to think what you are walking on. a total sweat box. it should be a sauna
Jacqui - 2 May 2003 17:49
I was there for a rare visit on Saturday. Good night all in all, but yes, the DJ is a bit of an arrogant tit.
Pauly - 22 Apr 2003 15:26
The Dj on a friday and saturday night is s*it he never plays music you request!! and its basically an under 18s bar
anonymous - 18 Apr 2003 13:07
Have only been there once, about 7 years ago, but it was commonly frequented by prepubescents and men invloved in mid life crises. Avoid like the plague.
