this is as personal as a cocktail bar gets, great staff, even though they'r all blokes, the aussie guy behind the bar found time to crack a couple of jokes and was still efficient and fast at getting our drinks done. slight turn off is the heat on a summers evening, i say heat, dripping from every poure in my body, still theres nothing like a good sweat topped of with a ice cold cocktail.

If this place was a little bigger it would probably be one of my favourite bars in Richmond.. I just can't take the heat (sweat patches and mascara down your face sooo not a good look!) Good coctails, nice staff (although can be *slightly* arrogant) and generally quite a cool crowd. The size puts me off staying for longer than an hour though. :-(

This is a great place to go to with your mates especially in happy hour. Been there quite a lot and never been dissappointed! Can get a bit crowdy but that makes it all the more fun! The bar staff are great and always make you feel welcome. This is a cocktail bar with a mixture of customers, from young people to business people. Never had a bad night there! With the pictures on the wall of people who have been there is a really nice touch. The cocktails are yummy, never had a bad one! Keep up the good work, guys!!

Too small, too hot, great for cocktails, especially at happy hour. Worth the trip.

Smoky, hot, crowded, and noisy, but the bar staff are friendly which is something I suppose !

Must update my comment posted on 24th feb. It's a shame, but it seems that the barmen have got a bit too big for their boots. Was last in a couple of Saturdays ago, and the place was not too busy (which is rare). Took me 30mins to get served though. The guys seemed more interested in chatting to the other bar staff than actually serving. It was really bad. Next, a friend of mine who had been given too much ice put some in an ashtary to get rid of the excess and got told off! What's that all about!? Would you rather it had been slung on the floor for someone to trip on? Perhaps you should serve more drink and less ice and you might not have this problem in the future. Start treating the customers with a little more respect. After all - we're paying your pansy bottle spinning wages.

It is small, and it is hot, so if you don't like that, don't come. However you can't deny the benefits of this little gem. The staff are talented, efficient, and clearly love their job, which adds to the fantastic atmosphere in there. 2-4-1 cocktail hours every night. Great funk/soul/jazz music. An extensive menu. Plus, the added bonus of the occasional 'screaming orgasm'.
This is, without a doubt, my favourite place to drink in Richmond. Its not pretencious or elitest, its just lovely!

Good service and comfortable interior. Generally full of deluded Richmond ditzes, though can't do much about that.

A nice little bar with good service. A shame it is so small though. They could do with a few more seats.

In my humble oponion, the most unpleasant bar in Richmond. Tiny, crowded, boiling hot and full of just the kind of people you'd hate to be stuck in a tiny, crowded, boling hot place with.

Best drinks in a ten mile radius (or however far it is to the B@1 in Clapham). Superb happy hour of 2-4-1 drinks and the best bar staff you are likely to find anywhere, taking orders two drinks ahead of the ones they are serving. Best Long Island Iced Tea I've ever had. If you've been out for a meal, try the ice cream ones for a dessert.

B@1 Richmond is one of three bars currently carrying the B@1 Logo. The four directors that own the company are all former world champion bar tenders in their own right, and this becomes increasingly apparent the longer you spend in the company of the people they employ.
This is by far (not an exaggeration) the finest cocktail bar in the world. The bars are very small which keeps everything person between the people you are drinking with and the bar staff, the music selection is absolutely spectacular and the consistency of the drinks made by everybody who works for this company is a breath of fresh air when compared to other bars throughout London and the rest of the country that profess to be cocktail bars.
The drinks menu has a wonderful balance of traditional and newly created cocktails enabling you to drink your old favourites or have a go at something a little different. If you would like something else that isn't listed on the menu, the bar tenders will know how to make it as each and every one of them knows around five hundred different drinks.
This bar is full of energy, which is fed by a group of very professional bar tenders who will show you how to enjoy yourself. You will never enter these premises and find a bar tender working there that doesn't want to bar there.

For a totally different social experience with great cocktails and an electric atmosphere, you must try a B@1 bar, I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed.

Make sure you get there for 6pm weekdays as the happy hour runs from 6 till 8 Mon to Thurs and 7 till 8 Fri and Sat. 2 for 1 on all cocktails.
Oh, and just for the record I'm 30 years old 5 ft 10inch and weigh just under 20 stones. I am a regular in this bar and have been for the past 3 years. Nice to know I'm considered trendy and beautiful.

I can't believe Jimmy gets this much about! Hey jimbo, remember me? Now this is a wonderful example of a cocktail and has only (until recently) been the only one in Richmond. Has San Miguel which is nice, and does great White Russian, even though that is a pretty simple cocktail. Been going there on and off for a fair while and in all that time it's hardly changed. You know what you're getting with this gaff.

Fantastic and unique little bar. The staff are friendly and definitely know their stuff, great music, fabulous cocktails and generally just good fun. Obviously James didn't understand the concept of a COCKTAIL bar - you just don't go there for a pint, you go there for Flaming Lambourghinis and Long Island Ice Teas etc. I give it a 8.9 out of 10 as it can get a little smoky and hot in the summer.

Good atmosphere and music, very reasonable priced cocktails and a very helpful doorman, downside- a very small area and closes at 11pm.

Incredible bar, the happy hour is superb and the music is simply great. The drinks are high quality not the usual watery stuff other bars serve. It is one of the few bars where they play the rock anthems and classical stuff you like to hear non-stop. Beautiful and friendly people attend this pub.

... but only if you've got a trendy hair cut or you're a fit bird. Don't serve draught, not interested. Good light levels though.
Good for: Poseurs
