please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

In the past I have occasionally popped into this pub for a quick drink when I'm in the area because it has a nice quiet outdoor seating area next to a "Pets Corner". Last Saturday I stayed there for the whole evening to watch a rock band performing called Inside Edge who were brilliant. I was impressed with the extrovert pub landlord (Luis) who was circulating amongst the customers. The bar staff were also very helpful. I will definitely be going back more often than before. I felt very much at home and had an enjoyable evening.

Recently Luis and Lesley became tenants of this friendly family pub and it shows. With more freedom to serve the food they know their customers will enjoy, and to stock a more varied selection of ales and wines has made the Rose even better than it was before. They've introduced a Tapas menu due to popular demand, (mainly from the locals), and by prior arrangement will creat a Paella which is as good as any I've tasted. Quality food, well prepared, at a reasonable price accompanied by a decent pint of bitter or glass of wine is all I want from my 'local' and it's been my families local for over 25 years.

Great valued food and drink, especially for the area.
Management and staff are friendly.
Definitely worth a visit!

I went in tonight. My Sky Box was knackered, and I wanted to watch the boxing on Sky Sports.

The staff were most helpful. Respect.

My name is Sean, I have been a local in The rose and crown for about a year now. I can not believe what has been put on this web site. The rose and crown is a family pub with a great atmosphere. There is a lot of banter that goes on, but it is towards the guv-nor who is Spanish and ONLY meant as a bit of fun and he knows this. I have tattoos on my arms and I also have very sort hair, (in this day and age I would have thought people would understand NOT TO JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. Dont take my word for it, come to the pub and see for your self. THANK YOU.

I have frequented this pub for about 6 years now and find the negative comments very suspect. The rose is a friendly family pub, very good value compared to any of the other locals. There certainly is no racism tolerated by management. The food is good and reasonably priced and the beer is as good as anywhere.

I have been made aware of some of the comments
posted on your web. I as the manager of this pub would like to confirm that we are a family pub .
the acusation of racism are very hurtful as I have spent 24 years eradicating it ( I am spanish)
but I must admit I have a family from Gibraltar
and occasionaly we have some banter, normally on a sunday afternoon, this may look to some as racism, but
nothing could be further from the truth.

Yes we do have some customer that have tattoes, and are bald headed. this does not make them racists, and if you can tell me of any pub were these people dont exist I will gladly come and visit.

finaly ,it seems to me that this person is the real racist. we probably have the best record in the area as a friendly, trouble free pub

thank you for listening.

Manager of The Rose & Crown
and VERY PROUD OF IT

Having read the comments posted about this pub - it's clear to see that the people don't know what they're talking about.

I have grown up in this pub under management of my parents, and to discribe this pub as "racist" is completely false.

This is a family orientated place, and we have large groups of diverse regulars. If this was a bad, racist pub then why would people continue to come back time and time again?

And, just to let you all know, my father, the manager of the pub happens to be Spanish and has been accepted by all our customers for the past 24 YEARS - that's right.

I think all of you who discribe this pub as a racist place don't deserve to voice your opionions. Tell me of a pub that doesn't occasionally get a nasty customer? The BANTER you refer to is normally directed at my father, so i think you've got your wires crossed. And my father knows none of his customers are racist towards him, or anyone else... if they were, they would be asked to leave the pub and not return.

Thanks for listening.

went in on a sunday very busy, loud and lively, price's are ok, benifits from a good size garden, also has rabbits and bird out back and one slightly worried goat?

Not great - I've had several decidedly poor pints in here.

How anyone can complain there are no decent pubs in the area amazes me - but the Rose and Crown isn't one of them.

If you really think this is the best pub in the area then I'd recommend a visit to any of the following: The Railway, The Racehorse, The Fox and Hounds, The Greyhound, The Woodman are nearby all nearby.

I was the one who added this pub on the 15th April. Shame nobody has added any comment. May be 10 minutes walk away from the rest of the pubs in Wallington, but well worth it. The people who moan that there are no good pubs in this area are strongly, strongly urged to go. Food is wonderful, and the pub is an unknown gem. If you are near the area go, unless you want to supremely miss out. Just a shame I don't get to visit there more often.

Nice pub. Better then some of the dross pubs in Wallington. Has a nice feel to it. Friednly staff, beer reasonably priced. Good place to watch an unpopular football team without fear that the punters will do anything to you.
