Quiet village pub on the western side of the M40. There was one other local sat at the bar when we arrived on a Saturday lunchtime. Good job we didn't want food as the cook hadn't turned up. She did later on after a few people had been turned away. 4 real ales were on - 2 were from the Froth Blowers brewery - Piffle Snonker & Thornswoggle, whilst there was also Greene King IPA & Abbot.

Quite Odd!
Beer was OK/good and nice roaring fire but the landlandy appeared to be minding the village youth club.
They weren't badly behaved but not my idea of good night out so only had one & went!

We managed to get the coach down to this pub, which was quite a challenge, but it was well worth it. Good range of beers, clean and welcoming and plenty of places to sit, nice outdoor seating area too.

Excellent pub. Guest beers changed weekly and very reasonably priced (around 1.80 a pint)

Having been closed for a while, the Cottage reopened a year or so ago and has been well reviewed in the national Camra newsletter. Ignoring the John Smiths, it serves two changing guest beers (one, eg, by the Cottage brewery - no connection - yesterday). The lunchtime food around 6 was good value and nicely prepared (though no shortage of carbohydrate!). Although not pictureque it is a village pub in a tiny village (but quite close to the M40 and Leamington).
