After a relaxing pint at the Founder's Arms, and an entertaining one at the White Hart, I thought I had discovered pub heaven in this corner of London. This place brought me back to earth. A pint of Pride @ 3.60 was the only redeeming feature. Disinterested bar person, a couple of lunching office workers, no buzz like the other two. Disappointing.

Quite dull.

Had a good multicultural feel about the place - bet there were a few tears in here last Tuesday. Nice place, especially to watch sport and also had a good selection of Sunday papers. I moved on to keg because there was only Fullers Discovery left and it wasnt great, but then Im not sure it ever is, that aside I would definitely recommend this pub.

Usually walk past this place on the way to or from other establishments in the area. Popped in for a pint as was staying at the hotel over the road and was pleasantly surprised. Good service, decent pint of pride and although not tremendously busy had a reasonable atmosphere.

Will give it another go.

This place is has three small TVs and two projector screens for showing the sports. It also has table football and a dartboard and snooker table around the back Cant really go wrong with that formula.

Pride, Discovery and Bombardier were all available along with standard lagers, Bulmers and Guinness. The barman was serving out of order, but he was nice enough when he finally got to me.

I liked it in here as the lively crowd gave it a good atmosphere although it wasnt that busy. Id go back if in the area.

Looks like it should be quite a good pub, but got served a distinctly 'past its best' pint of Fullers Discovery which rather put me of the place. Perhaps I went on a bad day - will have to try again sometime...

A very nice place. Clean and comfortable. Good beer and pleasant service. Just a waddle from Southwark tube station. Good place to watch football and sports. Highly recommended.

Pretty average. The service was pretty surly when I was there - I was one of two waiting to be served, and when asked who had arrived first I truthfully said I had done; the barman looked at me as if I was lying and waited until the other guy confirmed that I had indeed got their first! Quite a relaxing interior, but probably due to lack of custom as much as anything.

After the adject disappointment of the Charles Dickens this was a pleasent surprise. Decent ale, decent food for a Saturday, barman pleasent, place clean, Sky sports on, just the job!

A good social pub. Plenty of comfortable seating, on the ball staff and a decent pint on London Pride.

Across the road from my office. Some city types, sure, but they're south london office types more than proper 'financial centre' city types!

Very convenient on a Friday after work and good food, friendly staff. Not an exciting place on it's own merit, but reliable.

Went to this pub for the first time last week and I was pleasantly surprised. I work in the Waterloo area and decent pubs are hard to find up our way, so this was great. Pool table, big screen, TV's, long accessible bar, well presented, good location to tube, outdoor seating (on-street).

We had lunch this day, the pub was quiet when we walked in a 12 O'Clock but quickly became lively. We got our order in and food was served within 15 minutes. Food was good, tasty, hot and well presented - standard affair but value for money. Service was friendly enough and efficient, plates were cleared quickly as well - although it was hard to distinguish the waiters from the patrons!

We went back that afternoon we were that happy with the place. Good access to big screens and TV for the cricket. It got very busy, but the bar staff managed with the crowd quite well - never took more than 5-10 minutes to get a pint. A bit smoky is all I could say, they could have opened a few windows - but this shouldn't be a problem once the smoking ban comes in.

The local to my office so I am one of the much maligned 'city types' who drink in here.

Nothing wrong with this place at all, it serves fair beer at normal London prices. Plenty of room inside and a few nice tables outside too. Staff are friendly and service is generally pretty quick even when rammed.

Good atmosphere on a saturday eve, dodgy blues band and friendly non -pret crowd. Great that little zones of civilization still exist in this part of Southwark.

Nice corner pub, quiz machine, big screen, pool table and friendly staff. Excellent beer but can get a bit full of city types on Friday nights.
