very much a locals' estate pub and only one cask ale. Friendly enough.

Horrendous looking building... but on the inside reasonable boozer with friendly service and good Guinness. So yeah there's a pub dog. but nowt wrong with it really, apart from it looking from the outside like a pub that has fight night twice a week. But I don't think it does.

Rather hidden away and as such probably more of a locals place.
Been here twice and neither time was particularly packed, though not on a Fri or Sat night so far
However, it isn't all bad. Service was decent enough, has a pool table and jukebox, and what looks like a resident pub dog, while the locals have a banter. Car parking at rear, and a fair bit of space to it.
If you can take the feeling of being recognized as a non-regular without much fuss being made about it, its well worth a visit when in the area

A good pint of Guinness Extra Cold served with relative despatch. Blonde barmaid definitely not employed for her accountancy skills!(change from 20?).
Well 'ard Geysers still abound but in a very good natured way. Centre stage occupied by 'Chavvie' types. Suprised to see a 'bouncer' - friend told me it was to contain the 'Chavs' rather than let them wander free and at large in the village.
New fangled nasty disco thing - "Fat & Ugly" - horrendous noise and aweful flashing lights. Sensible conversation impossible.
On the whole better than it appears - Bottles of Pinot Grigio 10! Good value!

Sad to say that this pub is the abode of 'En-ger-lan' types and displays all the characteristics and charm of a 1960's new town bar. On the positive side, mens lavatories are clean. Sadly, if you want a good beer, this is not the place to go.

Owned by a New Zealander this pub offers great food and drink and great prices. It has a good atmosphere on every day and night and is a pleasure to drink in
