Great pub. Best pool table/cues you can get for 50p, good enough ale selection, nice heated and covered smoking area and footballs always on. Best part is the events and community feeling, nice mix of students and locals. Thursday folk night is particularly good.

They used to have 'What a Difference a Day Makes' by Esther Philips on the jukebox here. Great song.

Attractive stone-built pub high in the West end of Sheffield, an area popular with students.
The pub is quite small and retains a degree of separation between its front bar room, rear games room and side lounge, although the three now all interconnect. Comfortable furnishings throughout and the games room features a pool table. Also Sky sports shown, accounting for a busy period on my visit.
As noted, the range of real ales is solid if not spectacular, with Bradfield beers a welcome addition to the big names-Farmer's Blonde in fine form on my visit.
The pub also had a free curry buffet which was also most welcome.
Not a must visit in Sheffield but a sound pub and worth a visit if on a crawl in the area-Hallamshire House and Closed Shop are nearby.

Best pub in Crookes. Simple as. Great selection of real ales - Hobgoblin, Bradfield, Black Sheep, Deuchers - and some decent ciders, namely Stowford Press. Good pool table, screen for sky tv which is only in one area of the pub so the rest is telly free. Beer garden out back. Cosy and friendly with a good mix of students and locals.

Best pub in the area by a long stretch. Bradfield ale, good pool table, beer garden and seperate covered smoking area, folk music, good nights. All top notch. Can't understand how it's only getting 6/10.

Been to this pub a few times and really enjoyed it. Would have been in more but the big Scottish d*ckhead behind the bar seems to piss me and my mates off every time we go in.

A great local pub; quiz evenings on 2 nights a week; pool table. Friendly atmosphere - mix of locals and students and has been local CAMRA pub of the month several times

This pub is what a "local" is all about.was there at the weekend when they had organised a fund-raising day for the local Neo-natal Unit in Sheffield. The pub and excellent were bursting at the seams with hundreds of very happy punters.A fantastic array of local bands and musicians kept everybody entertained...and a sum exceeding 1500 quid was raised.Great effort by all concerned. If you have never been...what you waiting for???
