By the way, I should have mentioned that it is reasonably priced by Windsor standards.

Nice pub, outside smoking area to front. Polite barman & attentive friendly barmaid. 4 ales on, I had Ringwood '49er' [4.9%] decent pint, kept well and Windsor & Eton 'Guardsman' [4.2%] a well kept tasty ale.

Nice pub if you like smell of piss and a tepid pint of Fosters. Jokes aside one of the last bastions of a proper (not a country pub or stupid gastrointestinal pub) local boozer, rough round the edges but honest. Great pub in my opinion and have visited for many many years.

Located a few doors down from The Carpenters Arms is The Three Tuns.
Outside, we learn that the building dates back to 1515 and is the earliest surviving building connected with the Government of Windsor. The Three Tuns was alternatively known as the Guildhall and as the Town Hall until the building of the present Guild Hall.
Despite the apparent age of the building, the pub interior is a bog standard cut and paste job - comfortable and carpeted, but, despite there being several different areas, no real character or distinctive features.
Based on my recent lunchtime visit, this pub has more of a locals feel than the nearby Carpenters Arms and there's no real discernible play for the passing tourist trade.
The 3 pumps were serving London Pride and a rather moderate Doom Bar at 2.90p.
I'd be inclined to pass this one by next time

After spending a beautiful day in Windsor we wanted a traditional him cooked Sunday lunch. We we attracted by the large sign "traditional Sunday roast" just what we were looking for. We went in and ordered and after a 45 minute wait our food arrived. What a disappontment to say the least!!! I can only describe it as a frozen ready meal and my thoughts were confirmed when under the 2 slices of very thin beef was a large piece of plastic bag. I called the manager over who confirmed it was a bag that the beef is boiled in. After he changed the meal I began to eat it. The beef was like chewing cardboard, the two very small roast potatoes were hard. I would day avoid at all costs. Spoilt our day.

Very friendly atmosphere and the drinks, while not the cheapest around, aren't too badly priced. When I went there last they had a good special on bottles of wine. Normally attracts a younger crowd (18-21ish) in the evenings, especially weekend nights. Would recommend.

We tried the Three Tuns today - my husband had the Sunday roast, I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala. Very disappointing to say the least. The service was prompt and the waitress pleasant, but the food left much to be desired. We have ate at many places around Windsor and this was by far the most disappointing. The pub to the left of this one is much better, just as historical but a better atmosphere and the food far superior.
Don't waste your time here, there are plenty of great pubs and restaurants in Windsor that you will be much happier with.

Rude staff? Not in this place. Staff are great, good selection of drinks and a jukebox with Guns n' Roses Greatest Hits on it. Fantastic.

I have been using this pub for years. Never found the staff rude etc. Beer fine and reasonable price. But it is a pub for those who like to feel history. It stands near the Guildhall ( recent weddings of some people ,forget who) but there is a print from late 17th C showing Guildhall and Three Tuns, view hardly changed. And King George III knew the pub. The landlord makes the best purl in Windsor. Purl? Mulled ale with gin in it!

Rude staff. Especially the lady. With other pubs close by it's easy to miss this one out.

Was nice and festive yesterday, had Youngs Special on. Quite warm and welcoming but nothing out of the ordinary really, especially with the Carpenter's and the Horse & Groom so close by.
|
An okay pub. Staff wasn't that friendly. Food and beer of average quality.
|
OK pub, OK prices, good music...other than that nothing special!
|
Very friendly
