Oh dear. Tried this pub again and really wished I hadn't bothered. Its worse than ever.

Full of smoke where it gently whafts through the open door where the smokers lurk the other side. And a punch bag machine where the punters can test their strength.

Dreadful and with the violent punching sound going off constantly not a place I will ever go again.

The description "decent beer" means cold fizzy stuff. There is no real ale. The sparse public bar contains furniture that has seen better days. Youngsters play pool and darts to an eclectic mix of loud music.

hi all
i've just taken over running this pub, give it a try !! yeah it has its faults but if you want a pub with decent beer, great atmosphere and no 18yr old kids kicking off at 11pm then this is the place in farnborough for you, full sky t.v. has been added and a great food menu is on its way. try it one night and if you mention this website i'll give you a free beer for the hell of it

Oh dear. Empty-ish on a Friday night. Grubby and depressing comes to mind.

Nothing much to recommend this place apart from perhaps a nice pint of Red Stripe.

quite a regular in this pub, only because the pork scratchings are better than the food cooked by non proffesionals, scruffy outlay could do with a lick of paint, beer tastes watered down--but fabulous snooker tables

Big improvements to the food since Gail & Micks arrival, particualry the Hickory Chicken, would definately reccomend! Although can be a little quiet, have now managed to stop under age drinking and very rarely experience any trouble.

Never went in here, have to say it can be confusing to know if its actually open given the fact that half of it appears closed. Maybe this pub is just trying to be different?

As a bar man in this pub fo the past 3 years or so i think the good doctor should revisit as it is normaly a good atmosphere with B&B rooms and music from bands or dj's every weekend

Scruffy little "local" pub. Drinks are much more expensive than the North Camp (20yds away). Very much a regulars pub. If you like chewing gum under foot and enjoy feeling slightly uneasy, then pay the Elly a visit.

Just came across this site and found my local pub The Elephant and Castle.
I have been a regular for years and have to say it is great. They are all very friendly and I have never seen any trouble there and it is definitley not a military pub (it used to be years ago).
The owners have really made a good job of it since they took over. It is very clean and decorated very well. There is even have a covered patio area and the food is great. There is always something going on there like themed nights and we had a great casino night. I suggest the good doctor makes a visit there again. Cheers John

This is a great little pub which I have been going to for a few years. Lots of regulars of all ages and hardly any Military. Maybe seem a bit clicky to newcomers but does'nt take long to break through. Great Kareoke and D.J nights. Tented patio area. Big screen as well as other small t.v. around the bars, Vidio Juke box and 3 Pool tables. And they do very cheap Quality food at lunch times. What more could you want!
By the way I think photo was taken while pub was being decorated !!

The most important thing to remember is that this pub was popular with the Para's, and now the Welsh Guards, whose barracks are nearby. If you happen to be one of North Camp's Young People who like to smoke in Napier Gardens (Ayia Napier) then take heed: beware inebriated young recruits looking for a fight.

Aside from the probability of ending your evening in A&E, there isn't much to differentiate this place from the preferable North Camp except that it has more pool tables.
