Has got very shabby - in need of a refurb / decoration particularly in the toilets and the carpeted areas.

Smelly, dirty and full of the old drunks who can't get in anywhere else. Use to open late but now thay can't wait to shut the doors at 11-sometimes before.

Good music, good atmosphere, quite studenty. Friendly doormen who are always having a laugh.

Oh yeah and the bouncers are friendly as well
burylad - 27 Jun 2006 15:20
Whilst it may be the case that Bury bouncers as you put it, 'rock' their use of grammer in describing one of the shabbier bars in town is lamentably poor.

the bouncers rock :P

If you paied any attention burylad you would notice you don't pay him so you can wash your hands. IF you wish to have a lolly pop, chewing gum and/or freshen up with sum aftershaves THEN he expects a tip. Tho most you scruffy guys don't evne wash your hands i notice!
BuryBouncer - 18 Apr 2006 22:34
Used to be good but now you have to pay some one so you can wash your hands in the toilets, bit of a put off

The stairs can be a bit of a mission when your drunk yes, but the people who go in here are generally nice, the bar staff are awesome and I have to say the best looking in Bury, as stated above the two of the three managers are stunningly gorgeous, pete being one of them (apparently) and finally, this bar has the coolest doorstaff in the whole of Manchester, a guy and a girl on thur, fri, sat - great laugh and friendly, which is unusual, unless your a pratt and do something stupid to piss them off. Yates here gets packed out every weekend, the food is not as great as in Automatic (across the road) but it's by no means bad. The main thing about this bar is the people and the attitudes of the staff which is what makes it a great place to party! The offers are good and the prices are decent. There's 2 seating area's, millionaire games machine, fruit machines, tables, a dancefloor and a huge bar. It's got to be the best place in Bury unless your under 16 and therefor ROnnies is for you, or of course your a scally/chav and prefer sol-viva. Either way, don't knock it till you've tried it.

ps - anon guy, your soo gunna give kayleigh and pete a bigger head than they already have!

This is one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The food was awful. The atmosphere at night is not much better. I have found staff unhelpful with no product knowledge and, in some cases, downright rude. Not reccommended.

its okay beer is fine staff are ok the bogs upstairs!! if you fit to walk upstairs (59 steps) no thanks not for me can get packed out at weekend good place to pull young women or men

Great atmosphere, don't know what the other raters are going on about if your ever in bury this is one of the places that you must go to. The bar staff are great and the one guy behind there called pete is gorgous and the glass collector kayleigh is a laugh.

Not been in on a majour busy night-like the weekend. Although the place wasn't that bad. Ive visited better Yate's bars, but this one was ok. Toilets need sorting out. Have good offers on (check for latest offers) on different days and times. I went on a thursday and could buy a pint of Foster's for 1.50. Which for a bar like Yate's isn't bad. They have a pretty good lighting rig, for when the music starts...all adds to atmosphere. Would certainly go in again. Could do with raising there standards higher. Overall, not a bad place to go.
Right opposite the tourist information. Litterally a minutes walk from the Millgate shopping centre and Bury Interchange.(also opposite Automatic, and a couple of doors away from Pic's bar.) Round corner from numerous take-aways,and the Wylde.

No no no no no. This place makes all other chain pubs look unbeatable! Absolutely awful food, no atmosphere whatsoever unless you go on a weekend night, and even then it's decidedly dodgy to say the least. The toilets are miles upstairs and when it's busy (Again only weekends) it's a free for all with around eighty people trying to use them at any one time. Don't bother unless you enjoy that sort of thing.
