A bit like Wetherspoons, but with a smaller choice of beers, and with sport TV and music. An OK place during the day for a family to have a cheap meal and a drink.

When the staff haven't got a clue what a 'shandy' is then it's time to turn around and walk out the door. This is what I did!!

Good enough place to have a few cheap drinks and food when passing by, beer isn't the greatest and attract a fair few of Southampton's finest :/ . I thought it would be a good place to watch sport seeing as it has many tv's located around but, putting on music straight after matches have finished and at half time tends to get quite annoying, for me good enough place to start the night but not to finish or to keep coming back to!.

this boozer seems cleaner and not as much chavness than usual yates's ive visited , good to watch the football and is 1 of very small choice of pubs to nip in for sneaky pint or 4 while the missus is shopping ... prices seem steep compared to other yates's though 1 pint of fosters and 1 bottle becks over 6 quid .. london prices .. not bad but wouldnt make it a regular for anything other than above reasons

Not a bad place - anytime I've been in the staff have always been very friendly and helpful.
Food's what you'd expect from a chain - all precooked and reheated on the premises but still perfectly edible.

Had to meet a freind in here on a saturday night before moving on. Was met by the police having a fight with a couple of customers, I then had to step over the vomit in the doorway only to navigate my way through the singing chavs and charming drunken ladies. The staff I have to say were polite and served me quickly, probably out of fear that they might get beaten to death if they didnt keep serving the animals, no sign of any managers, they must have been hiding in the store cupboard. I took a seat at the back and watched a half hour clip of carry on chav scum in real time. Unless your brave and dont mind avoiding punches and glares, vomit, drunk girls with their skirts tucked into their knickers and sticky surfaces, go elsewhere.

The worst pub in the country, and quite possibly the world. Horrible location, terrible beer and a generally rotten atmosphere. Its horrible even waiting for bus outside.

This pub is an ideal place to start if you have very low standards. Normally full of chavs and slappers, it is overpriced, plays shitty music and attracts sleazy men with wandering hands.

Went in there on a Monday night and it was Dead. Nothing special at all.

Far and away the worst meal I have ever suffered. The peas were like buckshot and the gravy was more like jelly. Not really worth complaining, I have just vowed to never set foot in the place again.

Oh for goodness sake. Why do people bother visiting this pub. Very rude staff and filthy tables. The police attend this pub quite a lot due to the amount of trouble. Stay clear of this pub.

we always start in yates, cheesy music but good if pissed, but if u like old men then ur have a party in there. also full of sluty chavs!

This place is the pits, truly awful, avoid at all costs if you have any self-respect.

Been to Yates in Torquay, Plymouth, Swindon, Cheltenham, Taunton, Liverpool, Manchester and oh yes Southampton which is by far the dirtiest and worst Yates that I have been to. Went there at about 11pm one Friday night earlier this month. They had run out of Carling, the layout of the pub was bad as well.

This place sucks. The drinks are horrible and the food is not up to standard plus it turns out like a cattle market at weekends.
Dantheman - 2 Jan 2006 22:32
I would say that this is the worst place in Southampton to go..and lets face it Sot'on isn't the best place. Staff customers and managers are all pikey's...if your in that area I would recommend Hogshead or Toad much friendlier and cleaner!!!!

Used to love this place 4years ago but its gone seriously down-hill - Full of pikeys these days.
The food's quite good if you eventually get it and they've remebered to cook it (had a stone-cold soup incident once) but they're so difficult about where you can sit and when, that i usually don't bother!
SuzySue - 1 Jan 2005 16:46
been there recently, other than the amount of old people that seem to clutter up the ground floor its quite a good place

THOUGHT IT WAS A WONDERFUL PLACE.
SEXY BARMEN, GOOD MUSIC AT NIGHT AND GOOD PRICE DRINKS
anonymous - 24 Aug 2004 16:11
What can you say, its a wetherspoons with crap music and even more chavs.
anonymous - 16 May 2004 16:08
Tacky Tacky Tacky! Popped in there one night and they had a boy band playing - it was awful! Wanna be strippers that couldn't sing!
Sally Ellaway - 5 Mar 2004 18:31
It's very much like every other Yates's.

Friendly, entertainment based venue with great music on Friday and Saturday Nights. Resident DJ with party music Saturday nites. Drinks OK price - lots of great themed Thursday Nights.
