Don't go in! Full of idiots, food is rubbish and bar staff are highly uninterested! Awful pub try The George Staples down the road

Awfull boring pub, bring back the old manager Scott, was much better then. The landlady is more bothered about sleeping with the regulars than running her buisness.Beer tastes crap too.Wont go there and will advise others not too either.

Abit chavy, resembling a sports bar inside. Don't go out of your way for this one!

Now simply 'The Anchor', I see. No idea when it changed. Still haven't been inside.

Excellent friendly pub, Good food and they do some great deals on food. Excellent atmosphere , food , friendly locals, free wifi with code on the blackboard, I would give this 10 out of 10, but for the fact they have crap real ale! If only their brewery would get some decent guest ale in, plenty of the locals would drink it. So it only gets a 9 from me until the brewery sort this out. The beer garden is a superb size. The landlord and landlady are absolutely lovely,,,,,

Thought I would try this one out one night as it was recommended to me and turns out to be a cracking pub, good food, excellent jukebox, pool tables and very friendly staff. I don't know if these people below have been here since they wrote the reviews, but its not like they portray it. It has just changed hands and Mark the landlord has had a reputation for good pub food. Try it for your yourself. You will only have a good time here. Massive Beer garden and good for kids to play.

Great pub, being going in here for years as mum lives local. Just changed hands (will miss the old landlady - great fun) and the new manager has a reputation for making a great pub, superb. It is a sports watching pub and always has been, the locals are great, have a lot of fun, and you will have had a great time by the time you left. The food has been a bit downhill of recent, but that has normally been mainly because the brewery hasn't despatched the food order or there has been staffing abscence and no cover arranged by the brewery.

On the whole I have had no problems with the food, but it's just about to get a whole load better. Let's hope the brewery let the manager control the food this time.....

This pub has gone down hill, when i first started going in there it was fun, now they have a landlady who sleeps with the customers and her man, who then bars the customers. it is a disgraceful way to run a business. the food is always crap, boil in a bag or microwave, not the best. As time goes by the pub is getting emptier and emptier. Drove past for new years eve and it was empty, that just says it all, every other year it has been packed!!! This pub needs new management!!!

I have never seen a pub with so many tv's, they are everywhere, plus a juke box which destroys any conversation when played. Two pool tables which attract a certain type. Not the family pub it used to be, now serving meals all over the place. So in the evenings if you want kids running around everywhere, this is the pub for you, but not me.

It's alright for a beer as it is at the send of my road, but it gets busy & very fills up with smoke, which for me doesn't make it good for kids, but it is a good little pub!

They recently got rid of the monthly pub quiz. I shall never set foot in there again. they shall naver have the pleasure of my compan. Woe is the blue anchor.

Saw Jack Ryder from Eastenders get IDed in here a couple of years ago. And he didn't have any so he was on the cokes! Funny thing was I was 16 at the time and enjoying my beer. Heh, the downsides of being a recognisable celebrity.

Quiet little pub, filled regularly with friendly regulars. Regular turnover of landlords in recent years has seen many changes brought in and then kicked to the kerb! There is a darts room (not just a board, but a whole room!) but the pool table is now gone. Wonderful pub grub available every day until 9pm and there is always service with a smile. Good for families, large garden out the back with a slide etc for the little 'uns.
