Whilst better than the Hungry Horse I went to last week in Doncaster, this was a pretty poor example of a pub. In fact it is more a family restaurant that happens to sell alcohol. With all tables empty and reserved notices slapped on them, we just chose one of the 'reserved' ones to have our drinks. It only took 5 minutes for the waitress to try to move us on. Not particularly welcoming, unless you've got your charges in tow (assuming you have them) and you'll have to put up with Greene King IPA, Abbot or Old Speckled Hen.

it;s a shame there service very lacklustre and uncaring staff, we waited thirty minutes for our food, when it was brought to us , it was cold, The actual jacket potato with cheese and beans was barely and had been put in a microwave oven tell tell sign it was sweaty the bucket of wings was ok but got the wrong flavour sauces , we ordered crispy chicken and got chicken in breadcrumb with cheese on top it wasn;t nice nor was the presentation of the food, the young lady ordered a club sandwich which was barely edible and wasn;t even toasted , the plus side to that the manager did change this item for jacket potato with cheese and bacon, yet again the food was quite warm and put in a microwave it was very bad, we waited twenty minutes at the bar for the bar staff to get there act together, some of them didn;t know how to operate the till hmm, more training needed, the worst was yet to come after finishing our meal staff just stood doing nothing accept phoning people on there mobile phone, is this common practice at your establishment?. We were left with a pile of dirty plates just left on our table, in the end i took them up to the bar, knowone seemed interested, it was still there five minutes later, one of your staff a young lad was picking his nose and the girl while serving food touching her hair , it looked like the tables were a rush job , just one squirt and it looked like a dirty cloth over the table how very unhygienic this is. all in all a very bad experience, and we were told how good the Fleming arms were, perhaps you should have people with experience not loafers who don;t want to work on the floor as waiters and waitresses.

Closed and already ripped from Fullers website...a shame they don't update their beer pages as efficiently!
Depending on who you listen to the place will either reopen as a Hungry Horse in a few months, or be flattened (along with the remains of the old nightclub behind) and redeveloped as yet more flats.
Rather a shame as the landlord kept his ales in excellent nick, and it was a handy stopping off point when walking from Eastleigh to the delights of the South Western and Guide Dog.

Good food, good beer and it's own traffic lights to get out of the car park!

Seriously though, the place was empty which was a shame!

Talking to the very freindly staff told us why....the chef had only been there 6 weeks and his predecesor had cooked from within a pint pot!
The new chef is very good - not cordon blue but well worth the money

DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THE RUN DOWN EXTERIOR!! - another area that I hope the owners will sort, right now putting off people from a good pub meal!

Nice and friendly, nice decor, good but not great food at reasonable prices and it has a great range of very well kept ales.

This is a pub with lots of potential, great location with lots of space for development. Unfortunately it has a long way to go. The beer is good (Gales/Fullers) but the food is not good at all. This is local to me and I wish I had more reason to go there.

Friendly staff who tolorate and deal professionally with rude and abusive customers.

Beer is great and served with a smile

Keep up the good work

The fleming has a relaxed atmosphere, a good range of drinks and food, and a unique mix of people. Populated by locals, families eating out and students. The landlord is also a barside fixture and always willing to sort out any queries you may have. New pool tables and a plasma TV for the sport lover!
