Tim Taylors Landlord at £3.60 a pint! Pretty average place with very few staff to be seen. Not bad, but could be a whole lot better with a bit of effort.

noggin48 is right about the price - a pint of run-of-the-mill bitter and ditto lager left me with not much out of a tenner. "Charmless" is the kindest thing I could say about the place. Pity, as it's a prime location and should be buzzing - it wasn't.

This pub is located on the marketplace. We went in on a tuesday pm. Not many in seeing as the market was outside the door. No wonder, the real ale we tried was awfull, and the price, £3-80 a pint! WOW! come on. I complained about the price and they said it was the v.a.t increase. Who do these people think we are, stupid! The beer was terrible, We wont be going again. Avoid.

Average city centre pub. Most other places were rammed full but this wasn't on a Friday night. Bar staff weren't overly cheerful bt the beer/whisky was fine.

Centrally located on the market square serving Hopback beers. The GFB was in very good form on our visit.
The food was reasonable pub fare without being exceptional. The service was very friendly and efficient which was a slight surprise given how much passing trade there must be.

Centrally located pub with real ales, and food served all evening. Enjoyed an excellent all day breakfast that was reasonably priced, and promptly and cheerfully delivered to our table.

Just above average. I don't know if it would be so busy if it wasn't on the market place.

Pleasant enough place. Outdoor seating is nice, even though it sits on the car park. Good ale selection.

I used to live here!!! My daddy was the manager and we refurbished it from the skanky City Arms and made it all nice and family friendly but then we left so it's probably rubbish now. he he. joking. Do they still do Lemon Brules? they were great! My rating is for what it used to be like!

yeah, not bad...wach ou for the comedian who props up the bar though

Friendly, clean pub. Disagree w/above comments. Gr8 service from bar staff. Attractive and friendly. Always a good combination for a pub. Gr8 choice as well.

Lovely old style pub. Staff are sometimes a little rude. They sell Hoegarden which is nice but it cost nearly 4 quid a pint. (you can get a 2 pint bottle from Tesco for £2.80!) Really nice food - not incredibly expensive - overall the pros outweigh the cons.
