Pub changed hands August 2021 everything started off well, then a large turnover of staff in all departments started happening and still going on. Went there today Sunday 13th March after walking the dog, the pub was closed, this has happened before.
Not a good sign as this is the last pub standing in the area and I am a firm believer of use it or lose it.

The business is up for sale. No surprise he has driven all his local customers away. Hope the next owner has a better attitude towards his locals and tourists alike.

Just to add to my last comment. The Landlord has now banned dogs because he does not like dog hair on the floor. What next children or even customers?

Since my last visit things have changed. I visited Friday evening. As you enter the first thing you notice is the amount of computer made notices telling you what you can and cannot do, with the threat of been barred. One other local person in the bar apart from landlord at the bar. The standard beer and lager lines. The landlord was surly for some reason. Talking to the local who only comes in for one pint because he cannot walk far. Seems the landlord has driven his local trade away because of his strict petty rules. In this day and age you need every customer, especially your locals. Will not be coming back.

A detached, with a white painted brick exterior and black paintwork.

The interior is open plan. It has a nice wood bar, with darts and pool areas. There were lots of old local pictures, memorabilia and ornaments, with an old piano. The decor was the black beam look. Service was very friendly, with a small mixed clientele. Music was varied but at a decent level.

Beer; usual tap stuff of course, with Adnams Broadside on handpull - decent enough.

It did well enough for a return if i was down there - but as it doesnt do MILD of course, having one real ale is always a gamble - had it been Adnams Bitter i would have walked back out

Great pub but suffers from a lack of air circulation causing main bar to be full of smoke.

Old fashioned local pub with friendly bar staff and possibly the coldest toilets ever!
