mmmm, take your life in your hands for the kids disco night on a saturday, but not too bad the rest of the time, tried hard with ales, but act like they dont believe in it really. Probably the usual "locals" would be interested id guess

Very improved from past.
However, after ordering from a limited selection (few ales and a portugese stella!) you can stay at the small bar or hide in a corner somewhere.
The layout is bad, but they've tried to make it a great diner for sale.

Well the Bull's Head celebrated the first year under new management.
What great night Karoke, Barbecue, "The Bull Factor" and dancing.
Jim & Christine go from strength to strength they have just opened a beer garden and started a new summer menu.
Each month they add something more the coming months they will celebrate the Sale & District Festival with a talk on the history of Sale and it's pubs and also the World football will be televised.
Great pub well worth a visit

Everytime I walk through the doors I can never believe it's the same pub that I avoided only a couple of years ago. I've been in a few times now, you could say I'm a regular! I've just tried thier carvery on Sunday and it's THE best I've ever had in Sale by far! Great portions, great price and great tasting!
I'm really pleased for the owners because they have done such a fantastic job that even Camra have voted them the best seasonal pub in Trafford and Hulme! Now if that doesn't get you in nothing will!!

What a change from the old bull... Good beer, good food and no idiots. The management have done wonders with the old place, keep up the good work.

My wife and I decided to have a meal here on Saturday night and I decided to try the Steak. It was abit expebsive but boy did it taste great, the best steak I have ever had. This combined with the fresh vegatables everything had a just picked from your own garden taste. We had the full works a magnificent starter of Calamari and a brilliant Spotted Dick (never thought I'd say that).
We later proceeded to the dance floor where everyone was having a great time and boogied along to a brilliant atmosphere with a great DJ playing all the tunes you could not sit down to.
To paraphrase a well known commercial the Bull's Head "is probably the best pub in Sale".
Long may it reiign
Cheers

The new owners have done a fantastic job with this pub. It has gone from being somewhere I would never go into to now being, in my opinion, the best pub in Sale. Excellent service and excellent food. Really great turn around.

A wonderful and friendly pub, with superb food and great beer. I have now had many an enjoyable evening here and recommend it to anyone who wants either a homecooked meal or a good night out.

An excellent refurbished pub. Has kept its character but has been thoroughly updated. Has effecient friendly staff and the food is excellent. Obviously freshly cooked and never encased in a 'boil in the bag'.

thoroughly recommended- give it a try.

Great guest Ales, Copper Dragon and Land Lord. It makes such a difference when the lines are kept clean.

Nice place, heard they were opening up the downstairs next week for functions and football. A great place to aviod the 'riff raff' of Sale

If you are looking for great food a friendly atmosphere and good service as well as an oppurtunity to dance (Fridays & Saturdays) Then look no further. The Bull's Head can deliver all of this and more.
The new management known as Beauty and The Boss are The "B" of the Bull and are determined to provide a more sophisticated venue for the Sale area. It is most convienent for transport, Buses, Tram and taxis. But another of it's qualities is the beer, kept to perfection.
The seating arrangements mean that if you want to be seperate from the main dancing area (and decibels lower Friday & Sat) then that is possible.
All this and the pub has yet to open another area downstairs providing a function room for conferences and private parties. Look forward to a Caribean evening planned for the near future.
Cheers

This pub has recently reopened so thought my husband and i would give it a try. We were NOT dissapointed, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great decor and very friendly staff. We decided to try the food, it has a seperate dining room. We ordered at the bar from the a la carte menu but they also have a bar menu and a specials board. The food was fantastic, the service was great and it was very reasonably priced. We are going for sunday lunch with the rest of the family cant wait.Well worth a try you wont be dissapointed.

After I heard The Bulls Head re-opened I had to have a look to see if it had improved at all, lets face it, it couldnt get any worse could it?
After 'trying it out' I was so impressed with the service, the beer (especially the guest ales, you cant go wrong with Timothy Taylor) and dont even get me started on the food! Im going for my Sunday lunch this week with my whole family, 3 courses for 12.50! I cant wait!
Big_Dave_Morrison - 12 Jun 2009 17:21
The Bulls Head has just re-opend and wow what a differance.
A full refurb and great food with real ales.
Great Sunday lunch as well.
Got a great site on face book. No Bull its the new bull

I've heard a rumour that the Bull is re-opening following a refurb on the 17th May 2009. It's going to be a gastro pub!
blacksambuca - 6 May 2009 15:32
Appears to have been closed for some time, some of the windows boarded up.
boddies_drinker - 27 Feb 2009 14:57
Usually bob in for the last 1 or 5 pints on Sunday nites to finish the weekend - good for the pool and karioki if you'v had too many !

See quite a few of the old crowd in there and most times good laugh with no trouble. Good beer and quick
to get served.

I go in this pub to watch the football every so often and it's got a nice old feel to the place- although you get the odd window broken. However, the general feeling in Sale is that it's got rather unsavoury people in, and, I'm afraid that's partially true, but I've generally found them to be pretty harmless- just loud. It's in a very convenient position along the main road and therefore it's easily accessible. The main drawback is the price of the lager- usually around 2.55 for a pint.

its alrite in er alot of fit lads i must say all u wendova lot!! wit woo xxx

Stopped off in here for a couple of pints before going for a meal. There were 2 broken windows which doesn't say much for whoever upkeeps the building. Makes it look as shabby from the outside as it is in the inside. Beers were ok but there were a few uunsavoury looking characters in sportswear with sovereign rings and the likes. I would rather go to the Volunteer than in here.
DJ_Dobber - 2 Jan 2005 18:16
Still the original old building and an element of Sale's past as you srive along the A56
This is where nostalgia stops, once Sale's finest have collected their giros and had a couple of cheap pints of Holts in the Volunteer, they move on to the Bulls Head.
Even Wyatt Earp and Jesse James would have thought twice about a quick pint in here.
Used to a have a club/late bar attached next door where you were searched for weapons on the way in, enough said !!
