Not too bad a pub - got better over the past couple of years, still too many youths hanging around outside but the pub is trying hard to improve its image with quiz nights and entertainment, and CCTV outside is stopping some of teh bad behaviour. Wouldn't fancy eating in here but there are Lots of eateries near by if you peckish..... worth giving it a try - and its handy for Man U ( although i prefer the Railway club).

Large pub convenient for Old Trafford. No real ales. Beer served in plastic glasses. Full of louts. Quick service though.

Because of some old by law no other pub can open in the immediate area (or that's the rumour) so the Gorse has never really tried too hard and in years gone by it had quite a bad reputation for really bad beer. However the opening of the Railway Club nearby seems to have forced it to sort the beer out after most of the regulars from a few years ago started to flock there. Still, it's not a great pub, just OKish. Some of the staff are good, others stand behind the bar looking for something to do other than serve, sometimes the toilets stink and apparently sometimes there's a fight but I haven't seen one. All in all it's alright if you can't be bothered going anywhere else like Chorlton or Sale.

Impressive "gothic" facade and though not situated in the most celubrious of areas, is actually a half decent pub.
The Boddies is well looked after, regular entertainment and plenty of screens for the sport.
Obviously busy on a United match day but both sets of supporters can normally mingle inside and the extra staff put on normally means you're not waiting long and can still have a few with a 10-15 minute walk to the ground.
Not too many other decent pubs in the area to make a crawl possible, you'd have to head into town or back to Sale
