A place that's doesn't actually know if it's a pub or a bar. Only got two real ales on and both are from Timothy taylor which was on the turn to be honest. The way the place looks I'd go down the bar route and put some craft beers on to entice the youngster because it looked extremely quiet on the two days we visited.

Good pints of Taylor Landlord. Good service. Plentiful TVs showing the football. Lots of seats and a back room we didn't discover but it's supposedly like a cinema with surround sound to watch the action.

Visited this pub last week, the TT Golden Best was in decent order... the pub also appeared to be dog friendly... the atmosphere was fine.

The lad playing the bandit was a bit cheesed off when the collect button broke on the bandit and he couldnt get his hands on the 28 he had won....

overall, not a bad pub, but not what I would say was a top 5 real ale pub...

Again a Sunday afternoon visit, TT Landlord on tap with others it is a long room and the meals looked very good, not my favorite place but it was okay will try again.

Visited again a couple of times over the weekend. A small brick terrace pub from the exterior, the interior has a small bar and a narrow, open plan bar, lounge, with pool table and sports tv in the far area and quieter by the door. The interior has purple seats and walls that are white and bright - different to last time i visited, when the lights were out apart from by the door. There was the familiar 1890s Sutcliffe photos on the wall, which looked good. Clientele was mixed and most of the service friendly, just one half-miserable bar girl that served me.

The beer was better than i remembered it, TT Best and Landlord, both being fine, as well as John Smiths Cask. My score has gone up, i will pop in here each time i come to Whitby

2 real ales were on when I visited: Stones Pure Gold and John Smith's. Quiet in the daytime. Snooker table.

Used to be the scene of one of the cheesiest karaoke/disco nights I've ever been in.
One of the few pubs I know of that still sells John Smith's Magent (bonus).
Very few seats and can get packed but the log fire is excellent in the winter.
People tend to move around Whitby on a Saturday night in "packs" so you could either find it empty or heaving.
Good ale and the landlord sits there all day supping halves but still ends up hammered.
