From the garden this pub has the best view in the Midlands. However, if the weather is not so good and you need to come inside it is a very ordinary pub. On the overcast and chilly day we visited we received an equally chilly reception from behind the bar. The beer is in reasonable order, but we feel this should be an outstanding pub inside and out -- which it isn't. So, consider coming in fine and warm weather, or not at all.

A wonderful view over rolling Warwickshire countryside sets this pub apart. The ale was on decent form and I enjoyed a pleasant enough meal.

A good hooky pub beer spot on, but could really do with tidying up. Food usual boring pub grub, nothing to write home about. Really needs some money spent on it. Great views in the summer. Jamie

What a delightful pub - fantastic views over beautiful countryside accompanied by 3 delicious Hooky beers and Old Rosie Scrumpy for those of us who prefer their cider in the evening. We also enjoyed the traditional pub food - pie and sausages - which were freshly prepared and promptly served.

I have heard that this pub has recently been taken over and there was evidence of some refurbishment when I visited a couple of months back (pub looking a little "tired"). The Hooky Bitter is always good. Nice garden with good views.

Wonderful location make this a very interesting pub to visit. Ale choice was a little limited compared with tyhe best but the food was excellent with good portions. Busy when the weather is good.

This pub certainly has a nice garden with a lovely view. On a good day it's a pleasure just to sit there with a pint or glass of wine and look into the distance and ponder on life. However, having eaten there many times I would say this: anything with chips is safe. Don't touch the quiche. Last time I had it and it was wet, soggy and disgusting with bits of fat from streaky bacon on top. And it was 7.95! We don't eat there any more as the time before that my fish was raw in the middle and the excuse was that they had a student in the kitchen! The chef is a bit of a tyrant and if you order food one minute after 2 he refuses to cook it. So get there in plenty of time.

It's worth going to this pub for the view and the friendly barmaid. Don't expect a lot from the food. It is also rather grim inside with fox heads on the wall that haven't been cleaned for donkey's years. Like many pubs in this region, it could be so good but is not. Shame.

ARRRRGH!! ARRRRGH!! Got there at 2:30 last Saturday for a bite to eat - food finishes at two o'clock. ARRRRGH!! Had no cash, just a debit card so couldn't even buy a pint of Hook Norton. Third time lucky!
