Used this pub a couple of times while camping nearby. Found it to be a friendly place and relatively quiet (hence the limited number of ales on offer). The food served was excellent - plenty pf home cooked items on the menu.

Although there are mainly tables and chairs for dining, there are a number of stools around the bar area, and a succession of locals made their appearances during Saturday afternoon to chat and chaff with their friends and drink the ales. Unfortunately when I visited there were only two real ales available but the Swift One I drank was in good condition. Some money has been spent on uprating the bar and the facilities recently, the gents was in excellent condition although I couldn't see the sign to it. The soup and bread I had was plentiful and good, although I suspect the soup came from a catering pack.

Not a drinkers pub, seats for dining only and a very poor selection of real ales

Nice pub, nice beer, but very quiet. Does have B&B facilities but I would not reccomend staying there as the accomodation is obviously an afterthought to the main business. Rooms not clean, and felt a bit damp, even in early september! (was a warm weekend when we stayed). Shame really as pub is worth a visit for a pint and the food was good too.

Visited at the beginning of summer, and this seemed like a reasonable pub. Suprisingly devoid of customers, but they served a nice pint of Ringwood. Plus I liked their wooden chairs.

Further to my previous post, I neglected to mention that there is a separate room with a pool table. Also the door handle on the mens toilet needs replacing as you could easily get trapped inside!

As John Cutler mentioned, the choice of real ales is limited. I was in there recently and they only had Ringwood Best as the Wadworths 6X was off. The Ringwood's was good but it probably isn't too everyone's taste so an alternative would have been good. Think that they also do B&B. Does anyone know the history of this place as it seems to be a new building but I thought that this pub had been here for some time? Didn't there also used to be a pub in the village called The Star? All in all, not a bad place, albeit very quiet as I was the only person drinking in there at 1230.

We were staying at the campsite and were pleased to find a pub so close. The four of us were very impressed by the quality of the food, supplied we were told by the village butcher.I also enjoyed the beer, and look foward to our next visit, hopefully the choice of real ales is better.

We had the most fabulous sunday roast lunches there, at very good value too.
