Best straight pub around here. Modern, Clean. Nice comfortable seats. Good beer and service. Great for Cricket drink prior or post match.

Not so much Oasis as REM, specifically, shiny happy people! Adnams bitter £3 a pint. I sort of agree with everyone on this pub (unfortunately) - it is very much a modern place and nothing at all of what is suggested by the exterior. Attractive barmaids which is always a plus, as is the outside area which is architecturally well handled by glass screens.
Look at it this way. Almost opposite this pub is a white wedge-shaped building that still bears the remains of a hanging sign. This was once the Durham Arms. It was a pub, and is so no more. The Beehive has changed and adapted; and despite what Bertrand Russell said about 'one can adapt to anything, even sitting on a hot stove', the adaptation is no bad thing and the Beehive, unlike the Durham Arms, remains open. Anywhere that can appeal to a range of demographics and not just the white male which is allegedly the backbone of pub-going - and is nonetheless getting his beer from the off licence these days - has an edge, and an edge is what you need. Not traditional, but I liked it.

An absolute Oasis. The place has a very clean modern and comfortable decor but still has a traditional pub feel and the staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. The bonus comes with finding it has one of best Beer Gardens in South London, private, sunny and big. Great food too

I usually visit this pub during the lunch break when I'm at Oval test matches. It has certainly been improved by a refurbishment. Unfortunately, special test match prices have been introduced, meaning that a pint of Youngs bitter cost £3.50 last week.

Only dropped in to see the Portsmouth based band Lifeoriley in here. A mixed crowd celebrating something or other and a few locals contributed to an interesting evening.

This was my first visit and the pub felt a little lost between up market and local but the beer was enjoyable, as was the band. Staff and landlady were friendly enough. The wife was happy with the wine too.

Wasn`t complaining, just stating a fact, glad you liked it though but its totally different to the pub I remembered and as the cliche goes ,its all about opinions.

Doesn't look like picture above anymore BUT i loved it - nicely done inside and to a quality finish and a lovely paved beer garden - well impressed. Could do with larger range of ales but probably not aimed at that market anyway. Went on a sunny thursday evening and had a great time in the garden - once we got a table! Get rid of the cash machine though! Oh and ignore person below complaining about 'another traditional london Boozer poncified'!!!

Heaving when we visited on a Friday night - seemed to be mainly aftre work people. Very smoky interior, very pleasant garden.

went in after the Ashes test and couldn`t believe how much it has changed. Another traditional London boozer poncified out of all recognition. In years to come when all pubs are like this someones gonna come up with an idea of a London theme pub and change em back

Only problem with the pub is that they dont serve wine in large glasses so you have to make do with 175ML glasses or buying a bottle.

I would thoroughly recommend this pub - its bright and airy, has a good range of beers and wines and food and was very welcoming on a recent Sunday afternoon visit.

Spent the evening in there after the Ashes win at the Oval. Friendly staff and I'll definitely be back there again.

Perfectly passable pub, although I tend to agree that the prices are a bit steep. The food is fine as far as it goes, but nothing special. Generally a pleasant enough place. Would have been nice to have got a smile from the staff, but they were probably concerned that I was from the immigration department.....

New look with passable pint of Pride and bit of a back garden. Don't know what the food's like though!

With sumptuous decor and good selection of wines, beers and food, this is a very classy pub. Prices are a bit steep, but this ensures that the riff-raff stay elsewhere, so you can usually find a seat. Good outside seating area, and the toilets are as lavish as and you will find in a pub.

Ridiculously expensive, especially so for a pub outside the centre of London. Nice beer garden though.

One of the better pubs in the area, and you are usually able to get a seat. Courage Best usually kept better than their Directors.

Clueless management. During the last cricket test match at the Oval between SA and England there was also a Rugby test on between SA and Argentina being broadcast on TV. During the lunch break the bar was full of Saffas catching up on the rugby. When lunch was over the management put the TV back to cricket much to the annoyance of the Saffa fans who had left the Oval to watch the rugby. Despite a mini protest management refused to go back to the rugby. The result - all of us left and went back to the Oval to watch the cricket live leaving a petulant management with an empty bar!

Boring pub, always empty in the evenings.

We went in here by accident (kind of) last Sunday afternoon and it was very pleasant - friendly staff, clean, footy on the TV, and a very nice looking (if not particularly large) beer garden. No idea what it's like at other times, but I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

Located near the Oval cricket ground and the only times I’ve been here is during lunchtimes at the test match. Always amazes me that they insist on still serving food even when there’s a test match on and the place is packed to the rafters. There’s always the same old boy fighting his way through the crowds with a plate of egg and chips without a clue who ordered it. Get real guys, forget the food during big games and give people what they want, three quick pints before they go back to the Oval for the afternoon session.
