You mean they now provide food? Still, I don't think I'd be tempted back.

Really friendly and inexpensive - more for the booze than the food - with a nice outside beer garden

Not really a pub, well not what I'd call a pub, but I was led here by my youngest son, who knows buggerall about proper beer anyway. First black was the solitary barmaid was outside smoking as we arrived. No real beer, but there was the usual fizz plus Guinness, so I started looking for a decent single malt. Not one to be seen. I then noticed Tanqueray's Gin, so attempted to ascertain what kind of tonic was stocked. Sadly, just the hose job, or a slimline bottle, which is in my opinion, poison, so I told the lass how to do a pink gin, and asked for a spring water to water it a bit. I wasn't prepared to pay THAT much, so I had to have a drop of hosed water. There was a group of three sitting near the door eating pizzas they had either brought in or had delivered. My daughter-in-law went to the local chippy and brought back some chips, which she proceeded to scoff, but others weren't hungry. Frankly, if this place did food, it would probably be squid with olives in foie gras and prawn cracker melee, to suit the type of beer they dispense. Dreadful place, and I should have insisted on a real pub, I suppose, but even at my advanced age, I'm prepared to try anything once. That was it for me. 9/10 for the staff of one, but way down for everything else.

Not bad, now has a 'beer garden' bolted on a little bit further along which is open in more clement weather.
Keep 'em peeled for the landlord - very strange character...

Ok but no bitter or real ale lacks atmosphere maybe ok when some football on.

I have a distinct memory of walking past this place about a year ago and thinking it looked like a rough-house, but by the below reviews it doesn't look like it has changed management in that time. Popping in this week, I thought it pretty average. It's a fairly compact little one-room bar but with a function room upstairs. It has a fairly stripped-back look and appears to attract a younger crowd. No real ale at all, which surprised me as it's the kind of place you'd expect to see at least an ale, I thought. Don't think I would return.

Sorry for the delayed response but it took me a while to come up an appropriate rating for the Walrus. Starting on a strong note props go to the host for reserving a table and a mention must go out to the amazing wedges. There was an ok selection of beer, but unfortunately no ales for the classier gents amongst us. Still, beer is beer, wherever you go. The interior was fairly industrial, however we thought the jug placed under the urinal added charm. Thrifty, yet very effective! The noise of the train going past overhead also added to the ambiance. The music choice was enough to get most of the young professionals of London queuing, UB40, Whitney Houston and George Michael to name but a few. Overall, the Walrus was a tad disappointing.
Bazz don't worry mate next pub will have ramps and an easily accessible toilet..

Been to The Walrus a few times and each time the staff have been brilliant. They now have Bulmers on tap which is a bonus for cider drinkers but they have a pretty wide choice of other drinks too particularly for a bar of it's size (it's quite a small place but that's part of what makes it work so well in my opinion). The upstairs function room used to host a good comedy night but this has stopped recently. They still have live bands there though and it's well priced for the area. Overall a really decent pub for a drink or eight.

Popped in for a couple of cheeky pints before moving on. Got a seat, staff were really friendly and overall it had a good atmosphere.
Toilet was clean but only one ladies loo, which was quite busy. There were tables to sit outside but were full and imagine it could get noisy but still nice to sit out in the fresh air.
I really enjoyed my couple of pints and would recommend! Really handy for the train station to get home too

The management of the Walrus changed a little over a year ago. Since then (and since my prevous comments about this place), this has become one of my regular haunts. great friendly service, regularly cleared tables, clean toilets and they have a Carling tap that can pour a pint in 7 seconds. Now the staff know what I drink, I literally have a mouthful of beer typically within 9 seconds of walking in. Not a bad claim to fame for a pub in Lambeth. Would recommend it to any type of drinker - whether you prefer wine bars or old style boozers..

This place is OK. lots of birds shouting loudly above the din but most of them are reasonably decorative. Also, opposite a language school. So some polite foreigners too on the night I was there. Just too far away from Waterloo station to keep the commuter-trash at bay.

Not bad. Food not great, selection of beers nothing to write home about. Refrain from sitting outside unless you enjoy the continous noise from passing traffic and trains.

Used to be the Red Lion, a proper old boozer. Now a Hoegaarden, leatherette sofa establishment. One of the better refurbs when it first opened, but is now pretty rubbish.

I think you might be being a bit unfair Matt, we found it friendly enough even though we're definitely not the kind of trendy people it's aimed at. We wandered in one evening on a bit of a crawl, bought a half of lager each, sat at the bar while we drank, and didn't get any dirty looks from the barman or the other customers.

I remember when this pub was what I'd describe as a "Stabvest boozer". Walked in there by mistake once and thought I'd wandered onto the set of American Werewolf. Everyone stared at outsiders and service was shocking if you weren't a seasoned regular with hygene issues. The bar's cleaner now, but other than that it's still as welcome as it always was...

Great for private parties. Room upstairs is perfect, staff are very helpful and friendly. Never eaten there, but the cocktails are super. Would recommend it.

This is a great bar. Especially if you are after a private venue for a party. The upstairs bar is if very cool and decks are supplied with or without DJs. Good cocktails at non-London prices and very easy to get home from.
